Are these the older baseball bat style neck or the slim taper?

To me it feels in-between the baseball bat and the slim taper. It's definitely got some beef to it. Whatever it is, I love it.

I'd add that unplugged, mine is pretty loud for a sold body and when I play a chord, the guitar vibrates quite a bit. Rings like a bell.

Very good pickups, too. I was happily surprised. I almost always replace pickups, but these are staying in this guitar for the foreseeable future. They're a calibrated set based on the '57 Classics, but with Alnico 5 magnets. Nickel silver baseplates like the Gibson versions.

I'll probably get Grover locking tuners for this guitar because I prefer locking tuners in general, but the stock Grover non-locking tuners are very good.

Epiphone has massively stepped up their game since the new owners of Gibson took over.

I've owned Gibson Les Pauls, but I'm totally satisfied with this Epi as my only Les Paul.

This guitar kicks ass.

Man, not my style, but that is a bad ass guitar, and very fairly priced.
Yeah, same. I don't like Jackson necks, but man does it play great. I guess it's the intro year, so it's a Japanese version of the actual custom shop version. Plus the actual signature, it's a hell of a deal to the right person.

Best deal I've seen on one of these if you're into them

Idaho/Washington State Crazy Deal Alert - Located in Lewiston, Idaho (south of University of Idaho)

Lefty Alex (check out his YouTube) has roughly fifteen old 1950s PA heads he has converted into different style amps including high gainers. If you commented on his vids and hit him up, I bet you could get a steal on a truly special, one-of-a-kind tube head. He has so many, he's getting boxed in!

Thanks for the recommendation, that's the type of channel I love. Real dude doing cool stuff, plus excellent player.

I'm not familiar with "Lefty Alex," he post on Rigtalk, or you know him from elsewhere?
