Are these the older baseball bat style neck or the slim taper?
To me it feels in-between the baseball bat and the slim taper. It's definitely got some beef to it. Whatever it is, I love it.
I'd add that unplugged, mine is pretty loud for a sold body and when I play a chord, the guitar vibrates quite a bit. Rings like a bell.
Very good pickups, too. I was happily surprised. I almost always replace pickups, but these are staying in this guitar for the foreseeable future. They're a calibrated set based on the '57 Classics, but with Alnico 5 magnets. Nickel silver baseplates like the Gibson versions.
I'll probably get Grover locking tuners for this guitar because I prefer locking tuners in general, but the stock Grover non-locking tuners are very good.
Epiphone has massively stepped up their game since the new owners of Gibson took over.
I've owned Gibson Les Pauls, but I'm totally satisfied with this Epi as my only Les Paul.
This guitar kicks ass.
