Diezel VH4 vs D-Moll. Can't decide.

Had a VH4. Sold it. Regret it. Want another! But now I hear how close ch. 2 on the Dmoll is to ch. 3 on the VH. Any opinions would help me decide.
 
Channel 3 on the D-Moll with the mid-cut is where the money's at. Channel 2 on the D-moll will be in the same ballpark as the VH4/3, but not the same. You will find lots of similarities in the D-Moll and the Herbert. Diezel tone is about the same across most of the line of channel switchers.

Herbert is not my favourite either, much prefer my Einstein and VH4

I'm saying, right now, since D-Moll used prices are still very high, I'd go with the VH4
For 2K$ I might go with the D-Moll
 
Agreed.

Although they all sport the Diezel badge, Peter's made it so that each one offers its own bit of Diezel heaven. One is never enough.

I owned a VH4 & exchanged it for an AxeFX. I loved the AxeFX for a few weeks, then began to really despise it & realised I'd made the single worst guitar-related purchasing decision of my entire life. I sold the AxeFX rig for half the cost of the VH4 & spent the money on an Einstein.
More recently I Part-Ex'd the Einstein for another VH4 & couldn't be happier again. It was an expensive lesson to arrive at the same set up as before, but I know I'll struggle to trump the VH4 in the future. The VH4 genuinely is a contender for being one of the few great amplifiers of all time.

The D-Moll is a great amp. It's at a superb price-point as well & has a bunch of cool features. Until I owned an Einstein, I thought the Einstein was the VH4's little, less-equipped brother. I realised it was actually voiced a fair bit different from the VH4 & sounded much more open to my ears. The D-moll brings a new voice aswell. It's not really a dummed-down version of the Herbert, nor an 'Einstein 2'.

I'd say VH4 personally. The D-moll has a unique sound about it, has a little less functionality but is at a much more affordable price point.

I am sorta in your same spot in choice.....
Really REALLY want to check out a D-Moll.....but remember how mind blowing the VH4 was........so.......... :yes:

Resurrecting this thread to see other experiences with the D Moll over the last decade. I had a chance to try one last week and really liked it. Ironically reminded me of the SLO a bit lower gain.

I know a fantastic gent who wants my BE100 and has offered $ to complement the deal, his amp is as clean as mine.

Decisions….
