Messing around w/ rearranging the layout a bit. I think sending this to Dave and paying him to do it will suit me better. LOL

It just looks overwhelming. It's only 6 pedals and 6 processors, but I've been using this stuff (mostly) since the mid 80's.

I designed the rig YEARS ago, and like a road that you've driven on a lot, I just know where all the twists and turns are.

I think the real trick is knowing what you want, before you get to selecting and programming. Then you know which device to turn to, to get the desired result.

Holy crap brother that rig is unbelievable! Congrats!!

Have you thought about, dare I say it, a Kemper or AxeII for your rig? Wondering how close you could come to some of your dream tones with an AxeII. Not trying to stir up any shit, just wondering what your take is on the two units.

Glad to hear you quit smoking brah, onward and upward!

Sup tweed-- Thanks brutha

I have used the AxeFX and the Ultra. I haven't tried the AxeII, or the Kemper-- but to answer your question, no-- I'm sticking w/ my amps, as I know they definitely get me my preferred tones.

My take on the AxeFX is: It's a great unit w/ lots of goodies, and obvious benefits over the Big rig, for doing fly dates and smaller gigs-- but it's NOT the same. I have programmed a few for friends, who wanted to "get MY fx sounds", and I got them close, but every single one of them confirmed that not only does the Axe not sound the same, it doesn't "Feel" the same either, and I agree. After being blessed by having the real gear, the emulation gear on the market, falls too far short for me. I end up hearing what's missing, by contrast.

Any new clips?

Nothing good. Only a couple of mono iPhone videos of me just checking gain levels etc..., and playing noodly BS, and I was playing LOUD, so the phone mic, was protesting. lol

What powers all your pedals.

Beautiful rack!!! I keep trying to shrink mine but it fights back and keeps expanding

Thanks.

There's a Custom made-- Custom Audio Electronics Power Supply, on the pedal tray in the rack. The wah is powered via phantom power, off of a Custom made Dual Tap-Tempo box on the Floor Board.

I guess I will go with a voodoo PP2+. I have 2 power taps on my GT Mastermind fed thru the midi cable for a wah pedal and maybe my tuner. I have the Dunlop 2SR rack wah but would be nice if I could use a line off of the Pp2+ and eliminate a wall wart, have to check on that.

Been looking at getting a TC2290 again  nothing I have used since sounds as good and works with midi.

Thanks for the info and congrats on the CS5. Looks like it was a longggg search.

Thanks again, and best wishes re: the gear hunt.

I love my 2290! I have other things that can pull double duty and do really nice delay's too, but they're not the same. None the less...

Yes, the CS5-- was one of those, I could FINALLY afford it pieces, and I got my hands on this one (GREAT condition). I knew I wanted one for some time, but other things were priorities (Bang for the buck in the overall scheme of things), while all the pieces were being obtained and utilized-- during the growth process. It was worth the wait though-- the waiting SUCKED!!!!!

I know this may sound a little bit silly, as you obviously know what you are doing... But, how do you preserve the sound of the amp with all those external pieces? Or is the sound altered to suit your taste? Just curious, as I have never played through such an expansive rig.
I just know that the more stuff I add to my set-up, the more degraded it gets. Then again, I probably do it wrong.

It's a w/d/w configuration, with a really good sounding Switching System and a Line mixer.

All right folks!
The search is over... the LEGEND is back!!!

You've searched for 20+ yrs, payed tons of money (those lucky few) for one off Ebay, often a cluncker.
Welcome THE WAVE, a true 1:1 clone of the original Dytronics CS-5, from Shiva Audio Devices:

http://www.shivaaudio.com/

I have extensively A/Bd this wonder vs. the original CS-5 and played thru both... no/nada/zero difference other than the Wave sounds fuller owing to new electronics.
The CS-5 I tested is a 20+ yrs old one and who knows how many working-hours run on it.

So...
you can watch the video-clips and, even better... download extremely high resolution audio files, running at 24bits/96 and even 192 KHz sampling rates and listen for yourself, even compare the Dyno to the Wave.
Obviously use common sense...that is GOOD speakers or headphones sets... not those sad things on your computers or iPod earplugs  .
No lame mp3 streaming for this, thanks Zeus!
You owe it to yourselves... treat you right!
