El Capistan vs. TC-Flashback

I think the El Cap is THE BEST delay pedal that I've ever heard/owned...it's one of those products that actually lives up to the hype. Although it is a tape delay simulator, it does an awesome job with cleaner sounding delays as well...just dial it in. I use mine live in tandem with a DD-5 and couldn't be happier. The obvious down side is the cost. If money is no object, its the way to go.

That said, if you just want an awesome delay for gigging, its hard to top the value and performance of the Flashback...I plan to replace my DD-5 with one at some point.

No wrong choice here...more a matter of which one is better for your application.

That's where I am right now. I don't gig out (only record at home) so I don't need to have a bunch of options at my finger tips. I really just need a great sounding delay to please my ears. I'm not crazy about the $$ of the El Capistan but it does seem to fill the bill for me.

Yeah, I think so. My birthday is next month. Hmmm...if I can just convince my wife to get it NOW instead waiting for my birthday.
