I'll attempt to be constructive by suggesting the Randall RM series amps and MTS pre-amp modules as something to look into. Probably the closest one can get to a self-customizable amp with up to 3(?) swappable MTS pre-amps. I have no idea how they sound but thought I'd throw the idea out there. A local seller had one or two of his pre-amps professionally modified so there's that route as well.

Pretty much if I built a stock plexi and sent it off to be modded. After that I would build a duplate to offset my costs. Now rather be shaddy about it I just thought I would throw out the idea to see if I could get some replies. I got more replies than I was hoping for obviously!

The conversations that were had with James shouldn't be made public here by the OP. That's between the buyer and the seller. In this case it's clear James went far above and beyond what's expected in dealing with a customer and for that he should be commended.

The builders you talked to made it clear in various ways that your business proposal isn't feasible for them. So just drop it if your price point can't be moved up to the point where it is an attractive deal for them. Otherwise let James get back to handling business for paying customers.
