No I wanted a Side forum on just trouble shooting problems. Q/A style.

How many ground loop, tube questions, strings etc threads have we all seen. I thought it would be helpful is all.

You wanted a sub-forum that had a opinionated/subjective topics. These topics would be used as reference material only, and generalized amplifier information at best. This was with zero reference material, zero user input from users, from someone with no experience in the field, and someone with zero EE training. You posted a list of 10 examples and 9 of them were common internet mistakes.

I will say now what i simply said then. Anyone who wants to know loop, tube, strings, or any other question has access to the search button.

Aren't you still living with mom?

My mother is a whore and i have not seen her in years. You do know i also live in NC. I'd be careful what lines you cross. No one likes a person who backpedals.

Food for thought you went from asking questions from Engineer's to dragging a few good one's names through the dirt. I'd say good luck on whatever you're doing. I can say a few of them have helped me greatly on a problem or two i have had that are on this forum. I'd suggest you stop now while you're ahead. It's only going to get worse from here.

Hi Luke,

So you know, I was only posting to clear up something you were saying about me. I wasn't hoping to create any confusion about you. I have no hard feelings against you, I'm not trying to run you through the mud or anything, so I hope you understand.

Your comment about your custom amp costing $500 though… Honestly, you should say that first thing when you're talking to somebody about a custom design. Had I known that's the price that you expected to pay for what you were asking for, the conversation would've been over very quickly. My cost of parts alone even for single channel amp, is considerably higher than $500. I suspect the same is true for all of the people you were talking to.

I don't blame you for wanting something possibly different from what you've already found on the market. Expecting it to cost less than a Bugera amp however, is another story. :)

Anyway, if you are still going to pursue a custom design, I would recommend one more thing: don't mention too much about technical specifications to the potential builder of the product. Focus more on the sound and functionality you want, make sure you don't presume something about the functionality which may not be true Based on anecdotal experience with other amplifiers. If you do that, you limit what the amp designer is capable of performing.

Read the italicized portion at the start of this post, he explains exactly why he decided to chime in...

I've been following this thread and honestly wasn't quite sure why there was so much hate towards your ideas. It started becoming clear once you started calling out James. You're completely out of line on this matter.

I've spoken with James on the phone about previous models that I was possibly going to pick up on the used market. Looking back, he could(and probably should) have been a dick to me or offered way less help than he did, but he gave me all the info and recommendations with a happy tone and with a very personable demeanor.

It's good like a train wreck and fortunately it's the season of morbid humor. Fortunately, the casualties are low and at some point popcorn and pizza are in order.

For the record, I am a builder and I posted in this thread only to clarify custom vs. production costs. I've, in fact, posted in other threads of yours here as well.

Why you gotta drag Trainwreck into this?

That's why your name wasn't mentioned. I have seen your helpful posts on the forum. Even giving away schematics to your own design. You are a true dude!

The design a little too complex for my grasp. That's why I wanted to start up simple with a gained up plexi mod. But after playing about 20 type plexi amps. I just wanted to ask for guidance from the builders first on which version to settle on. Someone asked me why would i want my own design I have thrown out a couple of names of builders I seriously talked to. My overall impression was that most small amp builders get into it for the fun of it. It's one of those jobs one gets happy to get. Its a job I don't want and was looking for a short cut.
