I can sometimes handle it. Some of those people are the worst... some woman didn't have a working bathroom, so she had to use her back yard, diapers, garbage bags, and pee in bottles. She just through the bottles, bags, and diapers on the floor. Practically everything was covered in crap...

Today I am selling a piece of gear that is very special to me. I am selling my peavey rock master preamp to buy a new 4x12 cab. This preamp is sentimental because I bought it and found out it used to be my dads, and it has been special to me, but I can always find more of them. I just want to sell it because It is redundant to have when I have the same amp (Peavey Ultra plus) and I want a mew 4x12 for my rack :D

Do any of you get sentimentally attached to gear and never want to sell, then "Have" to sell it?

Absolutely!!! My 1979 Gibson LP Std. My Great Grandmother bought it for me new, in '79-- and I'll NEVER sell it. Years ago I sold approximately 90% of all my gear to fund a child custody battle, but NOT this guitar. I mean, if I HAD to, at the time, I would have... BUT I did EVERYTHING to avoid that.

Yep. I picked up a Hamer Studio Archtop back around '91 or so when I got into my first studio. I've had that guitar since day one, and man, it looks BRAND new - aside from some fret wear - not a scratch, and she plays incredibly well... It's been my 'electric guitar' for over 20 years. It's a staple, always feels perfect when I play it. Along with this, a Peavey Classic 30 I bought around the same time - had it completely rebuilt to boutique standards by Ho in Vancouver, added an Alnico Gold driver, top drawer glass, thing is, I rarely used it. It was taking up space, so I sold it, but I sold it to a buddy of mine who I do music with - it's staying in the family and he promised me if he ever had to sell it, he'd let me know first and foremost.

It is what it is. I always remember the words of Tyler Durden though, "the things you own, end up owning you".

only two things I'll never sell, my first guitar ever, a cheap Spanish classical guitar my mom got me when I was 12 to start taking lessons (the neck broke, someone fixed it but fixed it wrong so it's unplayable now), but I'll try to hold onto it as a symbol.

and my first electric, my mom only got for me a MIA Strat that sounds GREAT and plays great, it's onw of my main guitars.... It's got a Suhr FL/FL/SSV pick up system in there that sounds killer. Not only it plays GREAT but for sentimental reasons I'll never part with it.

other than that I don't get attached to gear.

Guitars, yes. I've never sold a guitar. The only guitar I really want to sell is a Jackson KVx10 that I bought off some guy when I was into metal but hated after a short while and now never.. ever play. I can't even remember if it works properly, that's how little I have to care about something to want to sell it.

Amps.. pedals.. yeah! Unless I built/modded it myself I would probably have no issue selling an amp or pedal.
