FMIC has a low probability of winning.
What's right / true doesn't always win. Especially in the courts.
For example, US Constitution 2A is clear, and even states, "shall not be infringed" while it's infringed nearly everywhere including red states, from the Fed level down to the local level, and everywhere in between.
The Bill of Rights, the first 10 amendments, describe our inalienable rights that government can't take, deny, or limit...yet they do, all the time. Because most Americans don't realize, know or care. It's working out great for western Europe as the invasions continue.
Courts have consistently upheld the infringements, denying what's right and true. In the case of FMIC and enforceable ownership of the strat body design, I don't expect the courts to rule accurately on what's right and true.
The courts will continue to allow the Strat body design to be infringed by the copiers, including those who make nearly identical shapes, and confirm it by calling it an S style or T Style, which is attribution to the original design without compensation or permission of the legal owner of the design...they clearly state they are copying but don't name the original to stay in the gray areas of the law.
as long as the majority is happy buying near identical copies of Fender original designs owned by FMIC, while screwing FMIC out of their legal design ownership rights, who cares, right?
Next time the courts rule the opposite way you want on something you actually care about, maybe you 'll care then?

I didn't even know. It was kind of odd that they did what they did and I was for it at first but when they decided to involve Yamaha.... I mean how could do they do that because at that point they really are going up against the world because if they could do that to the Pacifica.... Then the RG is next, then Shecter, then Kramer and then everything and everybody....... WTF is that

Aside from IMO that not working legally I just don't abide by that..... Its unAmerican.

While, I am torn on the issue, and do recognize that Fender owns the Strat... there is a question that I don't see anyone asking.
The S shape is a fairly ubiquitous design, its almost synonymous to the instrument, much like the shapes of brass instruments, or orchestral instruments, or drums, or pianos. At what point does this grow beyond the Fender Strat and just become a default electric guitar shape?
