When you told me about this yesterday, all I could think about was how we should go down to the PS and make some noise or even follow some of these shitheels home...

Wish I knew that you were going down bro, I would have gone with ya...
LOL.

I'm going to make a lot of noise during lunch but it will more then likely end there. I have no idea what's going to happen since Im pretty pissed. I feel bad for anyone if they get try and get loud with me. :D

Like I said, It would be great if I could have gone with , not for any other reason than to observe so that it cant be a he said she said deal ya know? Would be even better if we had some way of doing hidden video of the whole exchange.

Seriously, I think that you should grab Deb or better yet, someone that will hang back , be level headed and observe and take notes..

Late to the party on this one... Ralphie, really sorry about this. Sort that f*cker out at the postal office. A couple knee caps to get the holiday cheer in gear. I'm pissed and it's not even my situation!!!

Seriously, that's just horseshit and I'd be seeking vengeance no shit.

Mo :gethim:

Sorry to hear. Do they have cameras in there? They'd likely pick up counter activity or at least door activity. It would be hard to miss a guy carrying a boxed guitar.

I hope this works out. What a shame

Thanks Brother!

At first I was fuming but now I've calmed down a bit. It's actually a good thing because I don't want to look and act like a lunatic when I show up at the USPS :)

Ugh. That sucks, Ralph, sorry to hear it. I've had packages that said delivered that I've never received, so either a thieving neighbor or a thieving postman. Also, I had a package that got sent to the wrong apartment and when I knocked on their door the guy was really shifty and said he thought his roomate gave the package to the building manager, who of course said she had no idea what I was talking about. I filed a claim and was able to get my $ back in the end but that feeling of knowing damn right who screwed you and having no recourse is terrible. I'm sure if I'd forced my way in the guy's apartment I would've found my package but that's definitely grounds for being arrested :D

Find out what car the guy drives... Then take care of him

I hate the postal money orders. I had one for $800 and tried to cash it at the post office. They said "we don't have enough money to cash it". I was polite and said that USPS issued it and they are responsible for cashing it. The clerk was pissed off that I stood up to her. I told he go in the back safe and get me my money...with the sweetest voice and demeanor. I ended up getting my money :D

LMAO :D

Dave,
Aint that some shit?
Ive noticed how short fused these people are when you ask them a question. When I went to the Postal service to see if I could find out any info as to what happened, I went to the guy who I handed the box off to , gave him the tracking info I had and he already had this look on his face like I was being a PITA lol. That's part of the reason why I already had a bad feeling that I was screwed!

Thanks!

I'll find out if they have cameras when I get there.

Man what happened to you sucks just as much but I'm happy that you got your $$$ back.

When I was living at an APt and my condo, I added my work address to my credit card just so I could get stuff shipped at work instead of the Apt or condo. I almost never got anything when I had stuff shipped to either place. It either got sent to the wrong apt or I had to almost always go and pick it up miles away from my house! That got old real quick

Sorry to hear about that. I'm also curious to see if the cameras caught any activity. I live in a pretty small town and our USPS office is fairly large and open. You can see the cameras hanging everywhere.

This particular one that I went to is pretty small. Id be willing to bet that there are cameras but I;m getting the feel that I don't think it's going to help much.

"Well Mr/Mrs. USPS manager, when my attorney supoenas your video recordings, here is what my attorney, the police, and I likely will see: Me carrying in a huge box, me interacting with your counterstaff, me handing the box over, me leaving without it, and your employees handling the box, taking it out the door, etc... Additionally, we will get lists of eveyone who clocked in that day, a list of all transactions that day, including the one where i paid you, etc..."

Ralph,
Sorry to hear this buddy. I hope you get some satisfaction..... if not from the post office, at least from the completely guilt bombarded girlfriend who suggested you ship it that way. ;)

Sorry to hear that Ralph, but it isn't just the USPS. Fedex boned me on some Shure IEM that I sent back to Shure. They were broken and I was sending them back for replacement. The were old SCL3's and Shure was going to upgrade them to the new verision for $90, which was a pretty good deal, considering they were completely broken and the new ones are quite a bit more than $90. Anyway, Fedex just flat out lost my package. No explanation. Couldn't find it and since I didn't insure it (who insures broken headphones, ) they would only pay me the $100 plus the cost of shipping. That was fine by me. Funny thing was that I forgot I bid on an Ebay auction for a mint, never opened set of SCL3s on ebay and won...for $50....which of course wound up being on Fedex. New headphones and $50 left over. Hopefully, your story winds up being just as happy....good luck.

Rant mode ON:
There are guitar players at the USPS, gents. I shipped a pair of speakers to Columbia on 10/26. They never made it past the Long Beach, CA international processing station.

The USPS can't find them.

I do my USPS online, so there's plenty of documentation, tracking #'s, receipt of package, etc.

They're still lost (stolen if you ask me!). I had to ship the client another pair, do the whole thing again, and fill out all the crap paperwork to get my money back from the USPS, including photocopying receipts for payment, original shipping docs (I had my copy, but fuck, that was 450 speakers back in the pile!), print out the paypal payment, the order, the...fuck it never ends.

Can they just refund my money knowing they lost it (stole it)?

Hell no...I'm out $500 with shipping, and a 2nd pair of speakers and shipping costs (over $100) until I get reimbursed by the USPS in three months.

About 2-3 times per year some of my shipments get lost here in LA/Long Beach.

Don't think for a minute I haven't checked eBay or CraigsList, but by the time you can report them lost for a trace it's 7 days, then they have 60 days to tell you they lost them.

By then those speakers are long gone, and the ad is deleted.

But eventually I'll get my money back.

/Rant mode off.

Thanks everyone and I am sorry to hear all the bad stories and I most definitely learned a lesson and more then likely will not be using USPS again for gear. With that said, Thanks to my Girlfriend going into PITBULL mode, the guitar miraculously showed up 5 days late mind you but I have got to say that she went above and beyond the call of duty and made a million calls. I actually started to feel bad because she tore a few people a ne butt even moreso then I ever would :hys:

Her work paid off because somehow, someway it made it to the guys house and the tracking information mysteriously showed up.

I have no idea what happened and no one is giving out information and I really don't care. All i know is that it made it there and the buyer was one of the best guys to work with and he kept his cool the whole time. I was just about ready to refund his money when I decided to take another look and I saw the tracking info show up and then I got a HAPPY e-mail from the Buyer.

I just wanted to thank everyone. This place is the best.

Merry Christmas /Happy Hannukah/ Merry Kwanza/ Happy Solstice hahaha you get the Idea

Ralph
