That is one vicious, ripping valve tone!!! It is sharp and mean sounding, but not cold and sterile. I think that may be where some people hear the SS sound, but to me it sounds like beautiful crushing tube tone all the way!

Maybe some people's ears are more developed, or maybe its all just opinion. Either way, this amp just bumped its way up a notch on my want list!

Slice for days but where's the meat? I haven't heard a Fortin clip yet that sounds any different. Wish I could play one in person and turn some knobs. I find that tone fatiguing at length.

I had pretty much every solid state randall amp from the Rg100, Centruy 200, 200II, Warhead, X2
and let me tell ya little feller, this amp sounds NOTHING like those amps! hahahaha


Anyhow, the dudes on HC don't give a rats ass about anything unless it's a peavey, a peters or a fuckin herbert

I don't know why anyone goes to that website anymore, it's the most uninformed uninspiring place to go on the internet, Id rather post over at the gear page about a fuckin one watt tweed dickulater dumble clone than deal with the twats on HC.

These amps are not going to be for everyone, most of it is sticker shock, and let me tell you, I'm no rich bitch, I have to work like a fuck to get what I want, but so far I've not been able to go over to reinholds house and have steak cooked for me while I play his amps! let alone chili and beer!

I'll be glad to support Mike and his company because thats what fuckin proud canucks do!

I hear ya man. BUT, if you want to go to an even worse forum where a bunch of uninformed d-bags cry about whether Mesa or Marshall is better for the 198,778,000,900th time and everyone hates each other, then check out musicianforums.com or better yet, don't because it sucks balls!

Why do people go through the trouble of creating an account on a forum only to waste valuable minutes and hours every day being negative about everything and acting like they are experts on all things gear/tone/music??? If I hated everything and everyone so much, I'd spend my time alone playing with myself and would cut off all communication from the outside world.
Not saying people aren't entitled to their opinion, but when you have to resort to childish insults and hate mongering just to prove a point, you probably shouldn't be talking to people on the interwebz. Anyway, my rant is over. Man, am I happy that I found Rig-Talk!!

While I like the clip, I think it sounds better in person. I can honestly say that once I heard "that" tone, I could NEVER forget it. I can't wait to get a Natas.

Same here, in person that amp was just awesome especially the attack and response. Never heard high gain amps like Mike's stuff.

It's the nature of these sort of discussions on the net Brian.

FanboiX posts about how "totally awesome" his new ModelX amp is and how "it destroys everything else", and eventually someone simply says... "I don't agree or I don't like the sound". Well WWWIII has just begun. BOOOM! Personal attacks, insults and just about everything else will soon follow.

BTW: I wasn't impressed with that clip either. Too bright, shrill, trebly without enough warmth or thickness to the tone. I've owned plenty of high-end, high-gain amps. Maybe it sounds much better in-person (who knows), but I wouldn't drop $5000 on that amp based on that clip a lone.

I didn't attack you personally just for the sake of it. I just made an observation based on you comming into many of my threads with negativity. Had I done the same thing in everyone of your threads, Id expect you to say the same. And by the way, That is how I see you, so Why should I lie? Woawww this sound didn't get out of my head since I heard the Vid first time yesterday, so I decided to tweak my rig to get a similar flavour out. Not 100% there, I also only had a 2x12 with a G12H and a Greenback and could'nt turn it up so much, but at least I got some new settings to try out at next rehearsal.

I thought it sounded amazing the first time...read some of the "don't like it" comments and listened to it again to make sure. I still like it! I have plain computer speakers here in my office (ok so they're harman/kardon, but they look cheap -shrug-)and you can hear that this is no usual SS tone at all. IMHO anyways. I'd bet big money based on this clip alone that this amp plays and feels great in person.

My comments were more in a sarcastic tone, not meant to be 100% attacking, but I see where your coming from. It doesn't change my opinion that this amp doesn't sound like a solid state amp, and that clip to me doesn't either, but hey it's your ears! I can't disagree with what you hear!

Anyhow, It seems no one can like anything without being branded an instant fan boy, it seems all the internet tough guys want to jump down your throat when you don't agree with them, but as soon as you have your own opinion that doesn't meet thier standards of established BROOTZ or DJENT amps, your shit out of luck

Listen, I've seen all of the amps I've owned, had to repair 3 of them based on a manufacturer issue, and having seen the process of this amp being built and seeing all stages then playing the hell out of it, I only have one conclusion and that is this kicks ass!

FOR ME it's better than other amps I've owned, If I offended anyone with my statements then I suggest you move on and we all will live another day.

I stated I didn't like the clip (just as I did here) and stated why. I aloe pointed out how ironic it is that you bash/bag on Diezel amps when you username is "DiezelMonster".

Sorry my dissenting opinion offends you princess... But if you are looking for a place to get your ego stroked and read nothing but consenting opinions, a public online forum isn't the best place for that. People tend to speak their mind in these places.

No, if I posted a clip of an amp and you said you didn't like it, I could care less. I have room in my life for dissenting opinion. Obviously, you have an agenda with Fortin Amps, otherwise you wouldn't be running from message board to message board trying to create hype, and bashing anyone who thinks otherwise. With that said, I have heard some Fortin Clips that I thought sounded pretty damn good. This, wasn't one of them.
