There was a lot of talk about the Fortin Natas in its developmental stage, but now that the prototype has been built and tested, and that the final amp is 95% finished, let's discuss.

Let's discuss what? Half a year of blabbing and still not a single clip... There just isn't much to talk about and we've all heard the hype a few thousand times already. :dunno:

I hear you.
But in respect to Mikes position on the clips, you kinda have to understand that he wants "proper" clips of the amp up.
I agree with him since I did get to play the amp in person and hear the clips that were posted.
They did not sound anything like what they should have.
Plus the fact that he brought out a prototype of the amp that was not completed.
And you know how rarely you hear a "good" clip of an amp.
I'm sure they are in the works right now.
Hopefully Mike himself will record them.
Cause that man is an animal on the guitar.
My jaw is still dragging on the ground after hearing him play.

To be honest, there should be clips of this amp. I totally agree with the post you're replying to. This has been drawn out too long and just been hyped up too much with no clips, it's tiring. I'm not trying to offend anyone or anything but clips need to be made so people can make their own decisions rather than a years worth of speculation. How long does it take to make a clip? :dunno:

There aren't any clips yet because there's only ONE amp in the whole world, and the environment the amp had more buzz form EMI than a swarm of bees.

This December there will be clips, period.

Not trying to change your mind but this is what has happened and will happen,

The proto was brought down to LI and word was spread to all here and it was an open invite. There Mike stated that this was the proto BUT not 100% complete, he wanted to try one or two more materials in transformers and that R&D is expensive and time consuming.

Guys like Carl Roa and Gainfreak played through the amp and threw everything at it, jazz, slap guitar, shred, down tuned, palm mute, and dimed and the amp just kept going. Also some guys showed up that have never heard mike's stuff before and they were very impressed with all of mike's amps and agreed that what we have been saying was spot on.

The amp since that ampfest has been worked on with changes that would negate any clip that was produced at that time. The core tone is the same, just that the tracking speed, feel, and overall overhead is better which blows my mind.

The wait is now on to have all the parts built and delivered to Mike including transformers that you will not find in any amp.

So yeah, he could grab metro kits or go with off the shelf parts and pump out amps as fast as he could solder and then yeah clips would be flying all around. Mike's boards are his design, midi chips, transformers, chassis, etc.

Yes I have #2 coming my way and I am having mike ship mine to Carl Roa so that it hits the studio and he will blast out some great quality clips, if Greg's has a quick turn-around then I wont go that route since Carl is down the road and greg can play his ass off and records very well. My last gear purchuse I am so sure amp wise.

So yeah of course peope want clips, if people get upset over the lack of them I have really nothing to say. It is just an amp.

Ah another hype log on the fire   :D

I'm a Fortinhead so I bet the amp will be amazing.
I think its cool he's doing something different and trust Mike's ability
to deliver something special and unique.
I respect the fact he's fine tuning it until he's happy with it, I trust his ears and skills.

I'm assuming December, I will be making some rocking clips, and all you metal guys can go cry in a corner at how empty your wallet will be when you drop your deposit ;)

Hmmmm, i`m interested in one of these........

Still waiting on my MH though, should have that thing soon.

+ 1. By NOT doing clips then, future shitstorms were prevented, from people wondering "why doesn't my amp sound like the clip ?".

The cake is fully baked, now Mike is just deciding how sweet the icing will be.

And yes, the amp is better now than it was at the ampfest.

How different will the NATAS be from the Meathead`s 5th and 6th channel?

Worth having both to cover the brootz? I can`t wait to try the MH, i`m sure it`ll do the brootz just fine

The MH can do the brootz, no worries. No amount of tweaking will get the Natas to sound anything like the MH and vice versa. If your wallet can handle it, its absolutely worth having both. In fact, having 1 of each in a two guitar band would make for a great mix because each amp delivers totally different frequencies.

When i go pick up my MH, i`m going directly to Mikes shop so i`ll have the chance to try out the NATAS. I will know on the spot if i need one or not.

On the MH, you don't even need to go past Ch. 4 for the brootz.

I rode channel 4 most of the night tonight with the band! it was rad! then when I jumped to 5 and 6 it scared the hell out of them hahahahahahahaha

Yeah agreed, each amp is different and would be killer to own both. It would be rather funny to see someone drop the coin on the meathead just to have it nailed up to ch 6 though   I shit when I heard the clean channel of the natas, there is zero doubt I could gig that amp in a diverse setlist band.

Everyone chill out, the penny will drop ;)
