What you pick it up for?

Havent seen any for sale in a while.
Few years back I gave $1200 for mine. One of the amps I wish I kept. :aww:

Cant keep em all.
There was just a Cobra full stack in San Francisco CL a week or two ago. From the same guy I bought my Cobra from about 4 years ago. He was asking $2400 for the full stack. I wanted to buy both cobra cabs BAD, since they were both straits. Bought the Fortin instead.

$2400 for the full stack is a deal. The cabs seem to be more rare then the heads. ;)

1050, but it has a lot of wear on it (which i kinda dig). Ive seen plenty go for around 1200.

I always wanted a cobra but the talks of build quality always turned me away from them. Unearth used these on their oncoming storm album and their tone was nuts. Ive always heard the cobras pair up best with the cobra cabs and VHT fatbottom cabs.

Same here. Unearth's live tone using Framus' was insane.

What I mean is I ran the master all the way open, and used only the channel volume and vice versa, ran the channel volume wide open and used only the master, i also tried a few combinations with master 2 on and off as well. It was just always buzzy and noisy, sounded basically like channel 2 with a bunch of white noise added in unless i took the gain to 9 o' clock or below, where it sounded like a turned down channel 2.
I had one too, and it was a wicked fun amp. Great cleans and metal, but I never gelled with the in-between. I loved that amp boosted with my OD808 though, one of my favorite metal tones. The build quality was sketchy though, like everyone says. The silkscreen on mine would wipe off if you breathed too hard, and the tolex was like rice paper. Inside looked really dodgy too.

You already have good tips in this thread. I remember when I first got mine, it was biased very cold from the factory. That made a big difference in the fizz when I bumped it into the proper range. IIRC, I ran the ch volumes over 3:00, and the loop mix set at 12, notch off, and boosted.

While there isn't a whole lot inside the Cobras, I don't think their build quality is all that bad. Not Diezel or Fortin quality, but I don't think they are time bombs or anything.

Someone mentioned a VHT cab, yes the Cobra rips through a fatbottom, basically as good as the cobra cab really.

I will never sell my Cobra. It is the craziest heavy tone I've ever heard.
