And what i mean by a Marshall cutting in the mix is this:

I can't really tell in that vid, is that an old 2553? Sounds great! I have a couple of Friedmans but that kind of makes me wish I had kept my Jubilee.

The old one costs more over here, but still about half as much as the BE. I thought there was almost no difference between the reissue and the old one??

I tried a jub reissue half stack dialed in to kill and it didn't wow me until it was cranked to a near unusable volume level for either band practice or gigging. Additionally, at that point you loose the clean channel. I'll stick with me BE100 half stack. A tad dark? Yes, but the Presence, Mid and Treble knobs work just fine. It'll cut in a band mix no doubt. The Pink Tacos and Dirty Shirley's are just too low gain/vintage sounding and don't have the girth 100 watts do.

That was my experience with the JVM too, not so much the YJM which had power scaling down to i think 0,1 Watt. I have never played the Jubilee but my JVM really excelled at very high volumes and that being said i liked the JVM a lot more than the YJM but only cranked. Cranked did the fact that the amp could be a little noisy at lower volumes not matter anymore.
But that is the problem with all Marshalls i know of they have to be cranked, mastervolume or not. That didn`t apply to the Bogners, Diezels ets i had to the same extent. All these deliver at lower volumes.

If you want BE/JVM gain levels out of a Jubilee you have to boost it. Which means it doesn't need to be cranked imo. I've had 5 jubilees, every version except the 2558. All sounded GREAT at lower volumes with a boost or even 2 for heavy stuff. Mine were vintage though. Not that there's any difference. Remember the Jubilee design is supposed to be Marshalls answer to everyone needing more gain in the 80s, a Jose type circuit complete with diode clipping(oh no!) lol..
