Gear plans 2026

Oh there are definitely plans......

First, I'm going to build another Warmoth. Already did a Strat, so maybe a Tele this time.

Then, either a high end LTD or E-II and a certain high end Edwards I've been stalking (currently classified).

By later in the year, will snag my first headless guitar. First choice would be an O.G. Steinberger with TransTrem, but we'll see.....

I've already got tons of amps, cabs and effects. Will probably sell several pedals....but knowing me, will probably replace them with racks, possibly some classic '80s/'90s racks, cos that's what I like. Also need a Ground Control board for my G-Force and more soundproofing panels.

I have 30 guitars and 11 amps…picked out 6 guitars and 6 amps I’m going to put on consignment at a local store. I’ve been playing the Synergy/KSR PA-100R more than anything and loving it best. So going to expand my Synergy pallet.

Going to try to not buy too much. I have a Tom Anderson Arch Angel arriving Friday, so after that one…

Mainly planning to get better and keep recording and releasing songs. Start going to bed at a decent hour and wake up early to practice and exercise before work, tough for me though.

I'm really digging the Synergy stuff. I might get a KSR 50 and a Syn-1 down the road for my modules but i'm really digging the 20IR.

I'm with you on the exercise, sleep, etc. I really need to be more consistent on working out.

I'm thinking of buying myself a used Murphy Aged Les Paul with a Brazilian Rosewood fretboard as a retirement gift.

I’ve got a 2023 Murphy Brazilian. Highly recommend.

The funny thing for me was that last week I had this awful virus that kept me in bed for a few days. What happened when I'm trying to rest and recover? All my gear I had listed for sale ends up selling on those days I didn't want to leave the bed. I was happy to sell the stuff, but why did it all happen when I'm feeling my worst?

Resume my recording process. Possibly get something like a Valeton GP5 or something to capture my amps doenstairs so I can use the captures upstairs

Um... I got the pedal version that I'd be willing to part with... but it's not even close...actually, not a bad pedal, just not quite the same

I picked up a Lex 300 and a TERC that I want to put in, so the EQ comes out and either consolidate the mixers or move them to the back. Still trying to decide if I want to run it with the mixer running into the 4000 and 300 or if I just want to run everything into one mixer, too

Just got a blackback 4x12, 1982B with 30watt 55hz speakers. Have the matching angled cab, so gonna stack those suckers and rip out some riffs.

Finish my guitar /music room at back of the garage and throw together a simple pedalboard (boost, delay, reverb)

2026 will be more about using gear in the new room rather than getting more.

This MIM Strat started life as a Hendrix model, but a few mods later, it is anything but. The EMG Luke pickups are killer. Has Hipshot Locking Tuners and a Callaham bridge.
I always hated the reverse headstock, and now that the frets are wearing, I think I'm going to get a Fender replacement neck. Jumbo frets, 12" radius.
Just can't decide between Rosewood or Maple.

My main plan for 2026 honestly is to finally get back to playing regularly, hopefully put back a band together, and composing / recording.

Then highest prio on the list would be first & foremost finishing the new small studio place and re-organize / put all the stuff I already have back to work!

2026 will be no different for me. I've been doing the amp game since the 80's. The problem is I always get rid of shit I should keep, and keep shit I should get rid of.

There is one guitar I am looking foward to picking up this year. Dave Johnson will be starting production of his own guitars.

Nice. We re-did our studio with a RME Fireface III and a 12Mic and I've been super impressed with them for clean-type pres. I've got a pair of Great Rivers when I want dirt.

Probably just getting refrets and other assorted work done on a couple of guitars, and buying a few small odds and ends like another rack case and more power distribution to tweak the convenience of the rig as a whole. Sell a few guitars, maybe. I´m really happy where I´m at right now. Aaaand with that said I´ll probably buy an amp or two anyway.

Build a new effects loop and test it in the prototype Abaddon circuit, and then build serial number 001!

Gear wise I'm always on the hunt for a Randall T2HH which is my dream amp. They're so elusive though.

I'd love to load my straight cabinet with a quad of either Eminence Karnivores or G12H30 70th Anniversaries.

What’s the deal on those Randall T2HH? It’s solid state right?
