I'm in communications, my employer says we are essential and I guess the hospitals and cops do need their phones. However, I'm one of the high-risk people due to my extreme case of asthma which I developed 5 years ago. So at this point, I'm on 2 weeks of paid leave and waiting on approval for 2 more weeks.
I really think I would be fine but my wife is freaking out at the thought of me going back to work.

My city just declared a shutdown but "Im essential".... Im in R&D and currently Im working on latex to go on carpet. So not sure why thats essential. I think they are just taking advantage of a grey area. Hey go ahead and keep me in a cubicle but at least have us working on stuff that can be useful or essential. They gave us a declaration of essential employee to critical infrastructure to show if we get pulled over violating the stay in place order. I kinda feel like thats bullshit and actually like lying to a government official.

I was overseas stationed / deployed 12 out 13 years I served.
I feel bad for the sailors marines on a ship. Just did a 6 month deployment.
Only to be told No you can’t come home’
I could not imagine.
