Needs the matt headstock as well. I love that matt finish and I have never liked the headstock to be a totally different finish than the rest of the guitar. your all maple neck looks much better to me. But ebony with matching headstock would be bad ass.

Man... I'm really wanting a Custom Shop Charvel with a maple neck/ebony fretboard combo and alder body.

I'm hoping to order a really cool Custom Shop pointy w/AAAAA birdseye maple neck, ebony fretboard, The Music Zoo Pre Pro Series neck shape and 1 3/4" nut width, but with a 16" radius and 22 frets... In fact, I've already built my custom shop order form with detailed notes. Just one small detail Curt (Chubtone) is trying to work out for me to make sure it can be done... If not... no order...

Oh... this WAITING to see if they'll even do what I want sucks...

I've had black matte finish guitars in the past and always end up with a nice, shiny, sticks-out-like-a-sore-thumb glossy spot on the upper rear bout where your forearm lays when playing. I love the look but hate that glossy wear spot with a purple passion. Wonder if an acrylic finish (like they use on the EVH Wolfs) would prevent or be impervious to that?

I had a similar problem with my Hwy 1 strats. I just polished out the whole body, and it looked new.

I have one of the matte black from the first tmz run I bought used and glossy...and cheap. I refinished it in granny smith green and it rocks now. If it would stay glossy it would be great but after like a month the gloss is there to stay.

My (what once was) matte black is actually a cool freak, it has a DeMartini neck on it. It's stamped WDM Model on the heel and has a different shape from all my other custom and pro-mod charvels. It's actually the thinnest of all the ones i've had and is also one of my best playing guitars too which is cool.

Yeah but that would be a heck of a waste. The only reason those cost more is the paint. Plus I like WD I wouldn't do that to his sig model. I'd gladly rock the blood and skull version.
