I owe a lot to forums like this in helping me find my tone. I started with harmony central when most guys here now where there. If it wasn't for being able to hear clips and learn from others here, I'd still be chasing my tone. That being said, I do waist too much time browsing RT. I could be practicing instead.

Same here -- except I still waste a lot of time online. :D

IMO there's nothing wrong with letting a forum of people know you're taking a break. But it can come off as pretty lame and attention-seeking if a lot of drama's attached to it. Still, if the person has a lot going on...
 
Rich was all over the internet. He often changed his mind about what gear he wanted. Like most of us he only had so much money to spend on gear & was looking for advise from others on their experiences. He had some problems .... we all do. Life is often a balancing act .... for some people it is more difficult than for others. I took off from the forums for years about 10 years ago. I dropped off for almost a year since I joined this forum. If he wants to leave for what ever reason I do not think it is a big deal. He obviously felt he should say good-bye to the people he knew on the internet & mention why. Many of the post on this thread & the others around the web are much more a reflection of the poster than Rich. I wish him balance in life .... whatever he chooses to do.
