Sure, I can hear it. That whole part sounds pretty crappy. I can set my amp to those exact setting and it sounds buzz free so who knows how that was happening.

That’s cool. Sounds like you like the amp and will make it a keeper.

Not a good demo...

Yeah, but the OP said he is a killer producer and knows how to get great guitars tone :dunno: Also, it’s an official video meaning that the company felt this was an accurate representation of the amps tone. The clean was cool and the low gain wasn’t bad either. The higher gain low end buzzing was terrible. Who knows, maybe people like that low end buzz?
Yeah, I'm thinking the same thing. Clean and low gain were great. High gain, not so much. And this is a pro demo....
Whatever.... it seems at this point there are a million different versions of Friedman BE out there that all sound a little different. I'm not finding fault with Dave for trying to respond to people's requests and perceived shortcomings of the different versions, but I'm starting to wonder if all this tinkering with the BE recipe is reaching the point of diminishing returns. While all the versions do have their own special mojo, it's hard to say that any one sounds better than the other. Different yes, but not necessarily better.

Yet another valid point. How many more versions/tweaks till everyone is happy? If ever.
I think as long as people keep buying, there will still be tweaks. The BE/JJ/SS/Phil X are all 95% the same amp with minor bells and whistle variations and power section tweaks. They all use the same PCB FWIW. Great amps and great platform and Dave runs a standup operation and listens to what people want so he must be doing something right.

Used mine a rehearsals last night and it was awesome! Those 2 controls for the response and thump really make a nice difference when putting your amp into the mix when playing live. Hard to explain. The amp just fills in nicely and has such an awesome bloom to it. I have a decent sized gig coming next Saturday night so hopefully it will work nicely in that setting as well. All good thus far!

Yeah man this.

Having had the Slax for about a month total on 2 occasions and playing the BE-100 there are certainly similarities but they FEEL different when playing. Our boy Atrox had both at the same time as he thought he’d like the more aggressive nature of the Slax would fit his band better. He was set on selling the BE but ultimately kept it and sent the Slax back.

If the difference is enough to FEEL when playing, as folks who owned both the 50/100 models, then there’s a purpose for them all. Ventura has discussed the notable differences in tone/feel on the JJ and BE.

Kind of like the MTS randall system.. same PCB but minor changes go a way in setting the feel of the amp or preamp.

I can’t seem to coax this so called buzzing out of either version.

Nice! :D

I was a little surprised at the high gain portion of the demo; I’ve really liked everything I’ve played of Dave’s since probably 2012/2013.

Probably something specific to that amp.

Josh, I honestly think it was something other than the amp. I’ll try to get a generic iPhone recording this weekend to prove it.

As you are aware and mentioned, these are all pretty much the same amp. Couple of extra pots, add a cap here. At some point you reach saturation, and it gets stale. How about something entirely new and different. Just saying. Not a Friedman fan... so no dog in this hunt. I get my Marshall fix elsewhere.

Maybe if it had a few more knobs. Friedman products are good. I liked the str8 no non sense approach with his mods and first amps introduced. The be100 being the flagship as adevertised the ultimate modded/modern plexi. Maybe we start adding effects on board and midi. Then where is the seperation from all the other builders. Good to have choices.

I’d love to hear it Paul, but not as proof of anything.

I know your ears work just fine. :D

I thought it was a great demo. Amp seems very adjustable but I didn’t like a ton of the sounds coming out. I didn’t hear Mesa in there, but it wasn’t super Marshall-y to my ears either. Kinda a hairier, stiffer sound. The mid gain stuff just sounded cheap somehow, like a Blackstar or something. The high gain at the end sounded pretty sweet though.
