I’ve very happy with what I have in my home studio.

I’ve go 45 +/- guitars with several examples of all 3 main food groups ( Gibson, Fender, PRS ) and 3 boutique guitars, and a few good MIJ examples.

My 2 ‘84 MkllC+ combos, MKllC head, Boogie Roadmastet Combo,‘66 BF Princeton Reverb, ‘66 BF Pro Reverb, ‘65 BF Blonde PTP Twin Reverb Repro, Dumble Clone head and 2 1x12 cabs

I also have 4 very nice acoustic guitars.

Lastly a couple of plastic containers of effects pedals.

Do I still need to more gear? NO !!!

I’m always on the lookout for a “No way can I pass up this deal “ opportunities.

It's funny but alright before I got the Syn-2 and Fryette PS-2a, I was grasping at straws a bit and didn't know what i was going to get. I feel like i'm good.

I will always want another guitar or pedal but my core tone is Gibson Les Paul and some type of Marshall tone. I always feel content with that.

Yes, at one point I was more than happy with my gear.

Unfortunately, I had to move off everything good except for my classic.

I'll survive, but it certainly sucks not having the dino and sampson era matchless around.

I think I'm good. My sound for a long time was some sort of SLO-type preamp, effects from an Eventide Eclipse, into a Soldano SM100R or Rivera Hamer 320. The problem from that is that an X88 doesn't quite have channels for gigs that need a bunch of different sounds and I'm not a big fan of pedals. A while back I got a Bogner Ecstasy 104BV. I've been using it a lot and just went through a pretty extensive process of shooting it out with the X88IR/SM100R version of my Soldano rig. I like the Bogner better.

In terms of guitars, I've got more than I need but my stage guitars are two KE2s, one refretted in stainless and one a custom shop build with EMG 81/60 at 24v. They work well with the Bogner.

In terms of acoustics I've got a J-45 that's really loud (covers bluegrass etc.), a SJ-200, and a SJ-200 12 string. That seems sufficient.

My three Les Pauls were gifts from my wife. Those will never go anywhere. I love my strat and my Martin D16. The other guitars could go without me blinking an eye.

As for my EVH. I love that amp. It just does that thing it does so very well.

Have you ever been completely happy with your gear? Like, genuinely thought to yourself, “I have everything I need”?

I’m at this bizarre place right now where I look at the gear I have and honestly don’t feel like I need anything else to play whatever I want.

I have eight guitars that can take me anywhere from classic rock to blistering metal. Between my Friedman BE-50 and EVH Stealth 100, there really aren’t any tones I love that I can’t cover. Add the Kemper and Quad Cortex into the mix, and I basically have a million other tones at my fingertips.

Hell, since I got the BE-50, I haven’t even plugged in my EVH or my Jubilee. LOL!

All of my guitars are set up exactly the way I like them. I can grab any one of them, plug in, play for hours, and be completely happy.

I think sometimes we get so caught up in “What’s next?”—the next guitar, amp, pedal, pickup, or piece of gear—that we forget to stop and enjoy what we already have.

Right now, I’m just really appreciative and grateful for what I have. Instead of wondering what’s next, I think I’m going to spend some time enjoying what’s already here.

Bunch of Caparisons, a few LPs, some baritones, a couple Suhrs, a Pittman.

I have a Diezel, a couple Oranges, a couple 5150s, an Kemper and a 90s Dual Rec.

I have a shit ton of pedals, all really good and some of em worth a ton of $$.

I enjoy playing all of this but the search, the hunt, the jones, that’s part of the game for me.

The Kemper basically cured me of any Amp and pedal GAS and that's been 13 years. I still have an original Mark IIC+ for when I have the urge or need to crank it.

For guitars there's always another one out there but honestly I have all the bases covered that I need. I'm grateful and blessed.

Overall yes. I've been fully satisfied with what I have. It's been years since I've pined over a production amp or guitar. I still window shop and kind of keep up with what's new. Though nothing out there has held my attention long enough to actually want it. It seems like the innovation over the last 10-15 years has focused on cramming as much new technology as can fit into amps instead of focusing on innovations of tones. At some point I'm waiting for the new amp on the market to advertise being able to wash the dishes and do the laundry. None of the new technology stuff interests me.

That said I've moved into a different area of the gear hobby; building amps. In that aspect there are some specific projects I would like to tackle in time. But that's more for the enjoyment of building and learning. As far as having the guitars and amps I want; I'm fully set and satisfied.

Fuck it, I’m a consumer and at this stage in life I can afford to be and I’m not ashamed of it.

I contribute to society and I buy shit. Sue me.

What I want and need are completely different things. I am very happy with my amps, pedals and guitars except that I will add one more Strat to my collection and will sell one amp and buy another. For my rack there are a few devices I want but don’t need. I am happy in the current situation as well.

i have everything need and more but always have the itch to complete a collection whether i need it or not and in most cases its not
case in point.
