Has this been discussed? Metaltronix

So, I've played almost every high end high gain amp ever made. Mostly as a function of knowing lots of people, and working in a handful of nice studios with connections - although I've owned a couple of the "heroes" myself for a time. Almost every one of the legendary expensive amps has something to recommend it. Larry palm mutes sound like nothing else. SLO lead tones are sublime.

The Metaltronix is one of the worst sounding guitar amps i've ever played.

I's a noisy mess, theres way too much treble, it can't be dialed out, and it sounds like a stereotypical "80s metal" patch on early modeling devices from the 90s.

I freaking love the Crate Stealth and the Perfect Connection was one of the best under-the-radar preamps available before COB blew up. I'm not saying this because i think Lee Jackson is a retard or something - on the contrary I think he's made some amazing stuff. There's just no amp with that badge on it that i would spend two thousand dollars on, let alone ten.

So do I...
Turned my 50 watt Stealth combo into a head. It sounds bad ass through a proper 412.

Whenever I see a price like that and then see a salesman pitch reminiscent of daytime infomercials, I know what we are looking at

On a serious note, Lee Jackson has designed some great amps and some duds throughout the years.
As far as the M-2000 goes I've never played/heard one in person so take this with a grain of salt. None of the youtube videos of it make me jump up and say take my money; especially at that price. On paper it seems like it would be right up my alley, but all the clips sound harsh and ear piercing to me.

Zakk recorded NRFTW on a JCM-800 2x12 combo quad-tracked w/a Boss SD-1 so .... YMMV

Didn´t Lee Jackson also design something along the lines of a $500 clean boost a while back, seems like he´s targeting some upscale market I´m not really aware of.

I wanted a Blue Doodoo so bad cuz Marty Friedman was always in the ad and they looked rad.

lol he looks like he's being held at gun point

Funny thing is he never used the BV120. He actually slaved into the BV300 power section which is essentially a SVT power amp. St. Louis Music owned both Crate and Ampeg at the time. Minus a couple component values the power section was transplanted from the SVT into the BV300.

I honestly don't know why Crate gave the 150 & 300 watt ones the Blue Voodoo moniker. They are completely different amps from the rest of the BV series. Different preamps and different power sections all together and sound so much better. But hey, it worked out well for me since I was able to get a BV150 and two BV300's for pennies. The served me for a good chunk of my gigging time and I never had any complaints about tone. I still have them (plus the SS Shockwave).

Marty was one of those guys who admits that he doesn't care much about which amp he's using. He can pretty much get along with any amp, so that explains perhaps why he was open to Crate.

The Stealths are seriously underrated amps, really great and used to be had for 150-250$. Easily better than the Ampeg VL, Metaltronix and Jackson signature stuff.
His modded Marshalls though can be killer. The very first one I had, back in 2008 was an 87 2204 with his mid 'notch' knob, and extra MV with an extra tube gain stage. It had kept the original DNA of the Marshall sound vs almost any other mod I would own.
