Hetfield is a talentless low IQ prick

Boy, you got a long ways to go. But we got this, just hang in there kid
Hearing you criticize other people's playing and then posting Tom Waits stuff. Somehow you've found an artist who can make a legitimate claim to being worse than Pink Floyd, congrats....

This is one weird-ass thread.

It does make me wonder how much of the political discourse on stage was more of thing when these guys were younger too, and they know the crowd was there as much for a joined cultural/political statement than how things have drifted in decades sense. Thinking mostly of Floyd and other boomer bands here, as I think that'd faded away for much of my generation in the metal world.

Funny, I have no problems using songs as a vehicle for making statements about my position on all kinds of topics, but not using the time on stage to proselytize about it. Let the lyrics speak for themselves. (I also don't necessarily want to own all the lyrics I wrote at 17 now either, but whatever.)

Alright well that's settled then James hetfield is a supremely talented musician who is wise enough to know when to shut the fuck up

And Roger Waters is a talentless prick who won't shut the fuck up, and attracts absolutely unhinged fans

Glad we have a baseline
(I love both bands so, hate away everyone!)

It's funny though that James could have said nothing and just played. Basically he made a statement that he would make no statements.
"I'm going to say nothing now, so....yeah."

Which, in of itself, is a statement that proves he is much wiser than Roger Waters - and makes a ton of sense as to why RW has struggled so much in his post pink floyd career..... because he's still a fucking teenager. Even at 149 or whatever he is.

If he's struggled, I know plenty of folks who wouldn't mind the same level of "struggle" lol.

Roger Waters has an estimated net worth of $310 million.

Solo Tours: His massive solo tours—most notably The Wall Live (2010–2013), which grossed $460 million across 220 shows—significantly grew his personal fortune.

Such a struggle.

I think the statement was the same one we have all made albeit about different people Nugent, Neil Young, Springsteen. Shut up and play your guitar otherwise you're a fag. lol

Yep, it could be about any of them

James is way ahead of the game by realizing it - no one goes to a fucking Metallica show to hear who to vote for

To paraphrase the great RDJ

“See, you went full Mellencamp”
“Never go full Mellencamp”

I'd say a huge draw of Neil Young for his fanbase has been his embracing of political positions, so I'd expect that of him if I went to his concerts.

Someone like Nugent only became political - to my knowledge - after his musical heyday so I wouldn't expect him to say anything, or at least wouldn't want it.

I'm fine listening to either, but unlikely to bother going to a concert for either. I just see them a bit different here, if that makes sense to anyone else.

I like a lot of NY's music and if I went to see him it would definitely be for that, not for him to run his stupid mouth.
