It's the clones. Most built their own instead of buying ,Mathis had to dent sale the last five years or so, you can buy an slo kit in at least three places right now.

Then why the mods for it? If it's the best amp ever why do some guys want a Haynes, DeMartini, or depth mod?

It can do Maiden, Sabbath and Priest. How much more Metal do you need![]()

Those bands recorded with Marshall's, Mesa's, Orange, or Hiwatt. So it makes perfect sense to go spend $4149 on a amp they didn't use use to get their tone.

Because those are special requests and not everyone likes or needs all those mods. By all accounts, I suppose the FX loop still sucks so you got me there.

Thank you. I was wondering this also.IntenseJim":psjj62gy said:Kapo_Polenton":psjj62gy said:What is the Demartini mod? What does he get tweaked in his amps? Always thought he made those amps sound killer.... in Lugo's amp shootout `though, Lynch's SLO sound like shiite.
It's the same as the scoop mod and is only on the clean /crunch channel. It is a variant of the SRV mod at 400 instead of 700 Hz. On the clean it gives me more blackface tonality and in crunch obviously scoops the mid range. Soldano doesn't do it on the lead channel because they feel it sounds poor there.
