It's the clones. Most built their own instead of buying ,Mathis had to dent sale the last five years or so, you can buy an slo kit in at least three places right now.

I'll take a brand new one without the lifetime warranty for $3100

:poke: :dunno:

Hard to say what the warranty is really worth. But the used market may be the best low cost option for a real SLO

Fortunately, Mike doesn't depend on RT to support his company. It's all about the manual labor, quality build, lifetime warranty and maintaining brand. They aren't meant to be affordable or to please everyone.
+1

Soldano prices didn't go up, our dollar went down and has been going down for years thanks to the endless printing, we are way overdue for real inflation to kick in, why do you think gold costs $1700.00 an ounce, you can thank the F'ing moron's in Washington

After 25 years of production and remaining relatively unchanged, they must be doing something right.

Even if Mike Soldano himself built a clone from a kit, unless it has the Deyoung transformers in it, it won't truly be a SLO100.

IMHO, people look at spending money on gear the wrong way. Say you are in .... or bowling league, you will spend $40 and up per week .... That's $160 per month, and let's say 10 months per year. The total is $1600 per year.

.

Then why the mods for it? If it's the best amp ever why do some guys want a Haynes, DeMartini, or depth mod?

Because those are special requests and not everyone likes or needs all those mods. By all accounts, I suppose the FX loop still sucks so you got me there.

That's awesome that he can command that price and still sell amps. Mike has a great product and has made his company very successful.

What is the Demartini mod? What does he get tweaked in his amps? Always thought he made those amps sound killer.... in Lugo's amp shootout `though, Lynch's SLO sound like shiite.

Your old IIC+ was a more hand built amp like an SLO. :D

but $3,000 cheaper ;)

By today's inflation, that fully loaded Mk IIC+ would run you about $3460.00 + taxes. Considering Soldano uses the best parts he can find and backs it with transferable lifetime warranty, it really isn't such a bad deal.

Wow, 4K for an amp that can't even do metal! That sucks! :checkthisout:

It can do Maiden, Sabbath and Priest. How much more Metal do you need

Those bands recorded with Marshall's, Mesa's, Orange, or Hiwatt. So it makes perfect sense to go spend $4149 on a amp they didn't use use to get their tone.

That's the beauty of the SLO - think of all the $ you save not having to buy all those other amps. :D

this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tc Flashback works GREAT in the loop.

It's the same as the scoop mod and is only on the clean /crunch channel. It is a variant of the SRV mod at 400 instead of 700 Hz. On the clean it gives me more blackface tonality and in crunch obviously scoops the mid range. Soldano doesn't do it on the lead channel because they feel it sounds poor there.

Thank you. I was wondering this also.
