No one manufactures gear in China with the intent to put out the best version of their product. It's for corner cutting and profit maximizing
Agreed.
On the other hand, you see something like today's Gibson and it makes you wonder..
Quality of materials, attention to detail, work ethics, strict quality control etc. is what gives you a good quality product.

I just don't think having more amps, or a super spokesman or more advertising is really his style. Plus he'd have to consider adding in those extra steps (read: headaches) if he were to take it to the next level.

Yeah, I think Scott likes staying in the small business realm. Just seems like he enjoys where he lives and can create great amps but still be the right thing to the right people. I have owned Splawn amps and have a Friedman JJ Jr. now. Both have the tones I love and both of the guys are great dudes. Two different worlds though. Dave is out in Cali and has the opportunity to blend with other artists, etc. Scott has some exposure with artists but more low key.

I wish they would do some type of collaboration. To have the more raw, early 80s tones in the Splawn in Channel 1 and more saturated Friedman tones in Channel 2 would be insane. Call it the Dirty Nitro or something.....

Oh man, what a trip that would be. Let's see. I'd take a:

Quick Slax
Nitro Beatty
Pink Rod

Ok....maybe not a Pink Rod

And 311, it was you about a decade ago that got me into Splawn.

I REALLY do wish he would include a switch to allow KT88's or EL34's and in my head it would be a smart move because it COULD streamline things a little bit for him and be a nice feature.
Right on man  Glad you listened to me

Tube switch would be awesome as well as bias points/pots.

I laughed so hard at this last night that I wrote a funny response...but deleted it because it was a tad graphic. LOL! I basically did a tag line for the Pink Rod ala' a commercial you would hear on the radio and then second guessed myself.

LOL!! In hindsight it wasn't that bad. It was something along the lines of having "LOADS" of tone and something else. LOL

Right?

No clean channel, dirty only
No half power
Girth control
Head only but combos are welcome
Lots of presence
Massive iron
Big trannys
Mix knob
And serious serious BALLS

The Friedman Buxom boosts with the Nitro I had is the only thing that has come remotely close to the Monomyth Superlead I had. If Scott could get that push on his amps it would be hard to not grab one. I have been eyeing getting another QR or Nitro but Im holding off on any Marshall esq amps until I get my 2204 back. I have a feeling my G.A.S. for a Hot Rodded Marshall will be completely gone by then.
