still some of the best cranked plexi amp rock tone clips of all time imo and the reason why i bought and still own this monster.

I owned one and I wish I still had it. Mostly because of the way the Tone controls were voiced. Looks like Mojave are still building amps but not as popular as they were years ago. really don't know why cause the things are tone machines.

I wonder why he stopped making the Peacemaker. Wasn't that his flagship?

c-slice!

i was just playing mine last night and appreciating the tone controls. i think the main reason they aren't as popular as other brands is they don't have a ton of preamp gain so only old school folk really get it.

it was until he built the dirty boy which was the replacement flagship. he produced 100 peacemakers. mine is sn 2 and has the high gain mod (but not high gain in the modern sense--just more sensitive)

and in this day and age of boutique pedals i can get any gain flavor of the week i want these days--i have a hermida dual boost for when i want to crank the peacemaker and just send it over the edge, vertex plexitone mod for low volume vh in a box, a bogner burnley for heavy modern gain, a klamac arc furnace for srv, and an ethos for ford to ej/holdsworth legato fix.

i just played the friedman b.e.-od pedal, vertex boost and distortion, and recently played a small box, dirty shirley and be-100 and cameron atomica. with the be pedal i could cop as much of the vibe of the b.e. amp as i'd want with my amp, the shirley was really cool spongy glassy ear and finger candy and got a wider clean to jtm 45 mean range than my PM gets, but may not punch as clear in a mix as PM,
the smallbox is a great vintage 60s-70s 50 watt honk tone up to vh level breakup, and the atomica is also a very vh sounding amp with more available for the nuno to gary moore corridors-shapes grind. but considering the entry fees, the PM is a worthy consideration.

does any other amp demo out there have the clear rock sound these mojave clips do?

do they still make the scorpion? that thing sounded killer also!! victor showed up at the marin county guitar show years ago, and he brought a peacemaker and scorpion, and they were LOUD!!! but I think one had power scaling??

I still have mine. Mine is unmolested. I didn't "update" it to have the Power Dampening feature because I felt like that sounded WAY worse than the amp sounded with an attenuator.

i have the rockcrusher and juice extractor and never use the PD anymore although i did in the past live along with a hotplate to fine tune the attenuation level between notches in the hotplate.

did you ever end up with one of steve's amps? great tones there.

Yeah, most of your album is the PM, correct? Just gorgeous tone...I really miss mine, especially before I had it modded. I did end up trading it for my LP Custom, tho, so I can't complain.

I still have mine and won't get rid of it. For the vintage plexi vibe + the angry all the way up scream it is the best. I never use the power dampening.

I got rid of the hot plate and now have a power station, sounds good, but I prefer it loud of course, nothing like it.

Fortunately, technology is finally here, so many options for silent recording or direct live playing that volume is no longer an issue.

I use a Kemper for modern stuff (boogie etc..) but I don't believe the Kemper can capture the spirit of the Mojave.

I still want a coyote some day, the original.
