Interesting... I don't think I'd be too surprised, but I haven't heard anything about it.

Hope he retires the SLO and does not sell the rights to the amp. Mike's getting on up there. Time to chill out and enjoy.
Yep! He's earned it.

Considering the amount of SLO-derived amps out there, he deserves to cash in on his design one last time.

Retiring it only benefits the current SLO owners and future clone builders.

It all depends on your vantage point of reference. If your Italian or someone (or somebody) who behaves in an outlandish or autocratic manner, your surname and origin from Tuscany may resemble a 'sultan' or a 'sultano', or possibly derive from the Arabic sultan 'ruler'.

Either way, I can understand your point - rumors.

How many amps have been made continuously for 31+ years? All I can think of off the top of my head is the reissue Marshall 1959 Super Lead, which I think didn't come out until '88 (?), and even that had a major revision (the first reissue, then the SLP version), that is... beside the SLO.

If it is true, it is the end of an era, even if someone else makes them under the Soldano name. Just wouldn't be the same, even if the amps were still made as well and sounded the same.

So, if I had to guess...Id say Mike is just downsizing his shop footprint.

Soldano is already in with BAD through Synergy....I wouldn't be surprised....
