Is the rectifier a copy of a SLO?

Orange cloned to modern preamp is identical to SLO preamp.
Red modern preamp has couple of very small differences.
Poweramp sections are vastly different, as is the way the power supply is laid out, with respect to filtering and voltage distribution throughout the amp.

Edit: orange modern preamp does have one small value change, and one extra component vs SLO, neither of which are of any significance.
Red modern has same changes vs SLO with addition of small value change in tone stack.

I thought majority of people knew this… Mike is a legend for a reason.. but things have no doubt gotten better.

Most definitely a multi-watt dual rec will rip the face off a slo… 🙌🏽👇🏽 (If we’re talking brootalz) next level up for me is an Uberschall… I was always after a blend between 5150 & Dual Rec.. Found that in the Uber.
Try blending a recto and an uberultra. Those in stereo kick pretty nasty

Ive been wanting to do that! Something about the way other amps blend with a recto is special.. Just found that out in recent years. Idk if anything else really supports like a recto.. asked about the Rockerverb last night because I'm after 1 more amp but so many choices.. Revv, Diezel, Wizard, Orange, Larry but the uber ultra would complete my uber collection, & I’m really wanting to throw that up against a VH4..

I personally am not a fan of the uber ultra. But when you dial it bright, and gate the fuck out of the noisy bitch, it will blend well with a recto.

My personal favorite blend is my MGL straight in blended with a 33 boosted dual rec. That is God sound

What kind of recto are you running??? I just have 2 multiwatts one blackout one regular but you know the other revs always make us wonder..Oh also have you tried the Dirty Tree into the recto? It’s nice nice :)

I played a couple dual recs. An OG pawn shop special that was 🔥 and a reissue that was sexy as hell

Basically, but they sound nothing alike. The rectifier is more of a metal amp and the SLO is more of a rock amp that can do metal with the right boost. Personally I prefer the tone of the dual rectifier with a boost p front. More aggressive sounding.

I have owned a bunch of Rectos, from a rev G to a 3 channel triple. Gigged them for years where I got to crank them up to their sweet spot.

Now I have an SLO. I can appreciate the lineage but they are different amps. The SLO actually sounds good at lower volumes while the rectos needed a lot of volume. The SLO is far more refined as well as being more of a hard rock amp.

Put a SLO in my hands and I can make it a tight bro it’s metal monster . I’ve done it . I don’t understand . Not saying you . Everyone says this but to me it’s easy af .

Bro you could make a clarinet sound metal.. lol I originally lusted for a slo really bad because this video by Lasse:

When I played one I loved the clarity, response, & how it goes to 11 😏 but it just wasn’t my flavor unfortunately.. I found the rectifiers to be bit more aggressive but maybe there’s some combos that would make it do the trick for me idk :dunno:

I would say heavily inspired by :)

To me, the SLO circuit sounds like a cross between the JCM800 and Recto. It is like the bridge between coming from the JCM800 and ending at the Recto.

That’s a good way to put it. It will never be a slouch in any genre, & always legendary. There’s just way more aggressive options out there.

I agree. People can make ia SLo do metal, but there are tons of better options that you have to fight less. The loop is horrible, the gain is smooth. It is a bit boring for a metalhead. It was special in 89.

The recto has a very unique voicing and is a fun amp to play. You put a boost in front, and it is there. No fighting at all

I really like the SLO modded JCA I have, and the Synergy SLO II module. It is nice when I want something heavy like a Recto or 5150, but not as harsh or extreme as either.

I have heard those JCA mods are cool amps.
