Jeez, bought a used Ibanez Prestige yesterday...

Switch out the stock pickups and I'm sure you'll like the tone better. Ibanez is notorious for having poopy sounding stock pickups.

Yup. I've had a few Ibanez that no matter what they sounded kinda meh too though... I think it's the finish. One guitar sounded like crap no matter what I put in it - looked at a chip on a corner and there was (swear to God) nearly 1/16" thick poly finish.

I purchased a used RG something or other made in Indonesia from a music go round and the damn thing is awesome. Neck as good as the 5 piece models priced at 1800 bucks yeah its hardware isn't as 'good' but its not your equipment its what you do with it and this thing plays awesome.......

My RGA121's are not painted. That, with the combo of Mahogany and Maple and they are KILLER. :rock:
