Yep.That's really not funny...at all.Do you know how they did it ?I just heard about false Emails (bank etc.)followed by a phone call asking you to check your computer etc..

Hey jeff,didn't to to make fun,I just had some one hack a couple credit cards,my BRAND new truck was fucked up by some hit and run asshole,which just cost me a grand and well,I'll leave the rest of my week out!!Hope you get it straightend out cause I know the feeling

its one thing to get your email spammed, but to get the list deleted so you cant appologize and you had important info on their at the same time - that definately kills the joke mojo that was going on.

good luck on getting all of it cleared away - by any chance was it a yahoo account?

yahoo servers were compromised back in feb of this year - alot of the tall tail signs of such acts are just now showing. i had my facebook and two yahoo mail accounts compromised but i caught it right before it got serious and changed all the passwords to much stronger arrangements i could remember. whats ironic is that the new account was not accessed but the old one with the password still the same as it was in feb was the one that caused all the trouble - and they went from there.

Jeff, I'm starting to see this very hack alot in my business and so far it seems to come down to weak passwords. Was this an online email system like MSN that was hacked? I'm just curious to see if your experience was a password hack or something else.

You want to get on all of it as soon as possible. A friend of mine had just got a settlement, they cleaned out 180 G and then took out 60 G in credit. Because of this I never use a computer in any way for money issues. I took a few years to catch up. It destroyed his life and marriage. This was many years ago and things are improved. But as you know it is far from perfect.

Thanks guys for all the input and concern. Yes it was Yahoo and I will be continuing to change all the passwords I have to very complicated ones! The tuff part is I can't remember all the stuff that was in folders in this account. It was used by both my wife and myself for awhile till I changed over to me.com thru Apple.
