Just played an SLO for the first time....

I'll ask again.  Do you guys mainly stay on your Overdrive channel when gigging with the SLO, or are you using the Crunch channel too? I gigged my SLO this weekend for the first time, and while I liked the Crunch channel, I just LOVED the Overdrive channel. I kinda want to stay on the overdrive channel all the time and maybe roll back my volume on the guitar for less massive parts. What do most of you guys do?

I use the OD channel about 75% of the time and roll my guitar volume. I use the second channel in crunch mode for a few different things, gives me a bit more flexibility while still keeping things simple. I'm in a cover band btw.

Depends which amp, which gig. I love the to set the amp on clean and crank the gain for that breakup crunch and roll back for clean. Different gig, different tube set I use the crunch. I really only use the OD for some lead work, or i drop the gain to about 4 1/2. Now if I could get into a cooler band i would throw the OD gain to about 6-7 with the volume the same and have some fun.

This amp is a buzzy fizzy nasty mess with the master overdrive output knob turned way down but sounds amazing as it gets louder.

Not my findings and I've owned many.
Absolutely. All amps need to be mated with the correct cab and speaker; SLO is no different.
What "magical" combination of speakers/cabinets keeps the slo from being buzzy fizzy at super low volumes

Well that's a loaded question since you obviously don't like it at lower volumes. But try a Mullard or Telefunken in V1 or 2 and a 12L.

Soldano SLO and super low volume shouldn't even be in the same sentence.

What parrotted BS. LOL. Same can be said for any amp.

The buzz can be attributed to user error (can't dial an amp in) and tin ears.

SLO sounds great thru Greenbacks

Yeah I have an OS Port City 2x12 and Scumback M75s...I don't know what else to say to the skeptics. Of course it sounds better the louder you go (what amp doesn't), but it nevertheless still sounds crushing at TV volume, fat as hell.

Well let me be the first to stoke the Flames of GAS!!!

My Chrome Crocodile SLO :D

Depth mod in place of the Line-out so I wouldn't have to drill a hole in the chassis.

Dunno why I initially read this thinking you were running the overdrive MASTER volume at 4 1/2 and 6-7....all I could think is DAMN HE PLAYS LOUD!!! LOLOLOL

Screaming loud, but WOW, the tones!! I have been experimenting when no one is in the house. Then I can try it at Master on 6-7, and yes, it's FREAKIN' loud, but oh so touch sensitive and rolling back the guitar volume is excellent clean-up.

The SLO seems to perform well for me even at the lower volumes, just not as much air and when you go to "bedroom" volume...well, I haven't even spent any time trying to get that "bedroom" level tone. I have been using a stock Marshall 4X12 1960 Classic cab. Sounds AWESOME!!

Not what I said Skippy. It seems MOST if not all SLO owners are satisfied with the low volume tone. I don't need to post clips to shove this fact up your ass.
"Superlow" volume? How low is "super" low? At that point why have an amp? Press the headstock to the nearest wall and have at it.
Stupid fuck. How dare you challange me
Of course you wouldn't do clips because you know your full of shit and have manure falling out yo ears. You win the slo sounds like God at super low volumes, it must be true just because you say it does

I am always aware of this when I type. Though I'm sure I jack it up time and again. It is incorrect to say "an" SLO. Even if it is an acronym. You wouldn't say I want "an" DSL. I think it is just the way it flows linguistically. Same reason people say "where you at?" instead of "where are you?". Simply bad English.

Or maybe the amazing is implied. "I want an (amazing) SLO. ;)

No, it isn't. It's called a vowel-sounding letter. A,E,F,H,I,L,M,N,O,R,S and X are all vowel-sounding letters, hence why people write "an" before the acronym. Examples:

An ATF agent
An EMT
An FDA employee
An HR report

etc.
