I was unfortunate enough to only have the experience to play a Soldano SLO 100 at a Phoenix Guitar Center, in their sound room a few years back.
I can't remember what unfortunate speaker cab was connected to it, but it kinda sounded not that great...please before you hurl insults in my general direction, remember where I tried it at.
It probably needed tubes, biasing, ect...who knows??
I flipped through the rhythm channel and the lead channel and it just sounded fizzy kind of pre-amp gained out.
I know that these are fabulous sounding amps, Gary Moore's SLO 100 in particular, where he used the rhythm channel and used a Marshall Guv'nor pedal or Tube Screamer for leads was an absolute tone monster as was Warren Haynes amp and Warren DeMartini's, so this may have been a bad day in the city for this amp.
Nonetheless it was disappointing, hope to try a healthy one in the future.
This was the same GC where I tried an EJ Strat that was set up so badly I had to put it down, even an EC Strat..the same thing.
That's why in Phoenix it sucks to try out guitar gear trust me I know.
The 2 hours I spent at Rainbow Guitars in Tuscon in comparison were absolute heaven, with incredible selection and professionally set up equipment.
