Killer guitar tone.... Bullet Boys

Didn't Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake write bark at the moon?
I might be wrong but that main riff was done on a keyboard first. Not sure why I remember that.

In Sarzo's book they talk about a drunken Ozzy hiring Torien on the spot after an audition because he could play and was an incredible showman with the guitar...he got to rehearsal's and was totally unprepared and was screwing up left and right... the band had to convince Ozzy to let him go...

I believe Daisley not only had a hand in the lyrics, but much of the riffs and arrangements of all the best Ozzy stuff...he really seems to be Ozzy's best collaborator...too bad they can't seem to get along...

That first self titled Bulletboys album is indeed pretty good, and I agree a lot of VH influence in it. I always thought their singer would be the perfect replacement tor Roth in VH.

Interesting that Marq plays guitar and is good at it, I've never heard that before this thread or even seen him with a guitar in hand. I wonder, since they have had a lot of different players over the years since Sweda left, that he didn't just take over on guitar instead himself.

I saw them at a bar once in Erie Pa. about 10 years ago, I knew they had a different line-up and wasn't expecting much, but that guy they had then was great, he nailed everything perfect, and the vocals were really good also.

FUCK YES, it's the fucking Bullet Boys. They kick ass and take names. :D

What some call influence others see ripoff. I tend to agree with the later.

Man the guitar player is really fighting his amp on Smooth Up, surprised that made the final cut.

I had heard that Warner Brothers specifically put that band together to capitalize on Van Halen's success. Similar look/lineup/etc.

Bulletpigs are great. From their self titled to ZaZa. Marq plays guitar for them now...sings as well.

They should have used Boogies :D

Man your Wizards are taking a beating over at TGP, I think they are still soar about the NJ ampshow 2 years ago when the wizard guys were blowing a/c ducts out of the walls

Nah I think they should not have made a record!  I've had to play that stupid song way too many times. :)

Yeah it's a pretty fun thread....almost as good as the tone in the hands and EVH tone threads. I still like my Wizard, but it's custom tweaked for me, so I guess I should like it  I'd probably like a Komet but I already have two killer plexis so no real need to venture there. A friend had a real Trainwreck and it was pretty cool....he bought it new.

opened for the "bulletboys" a week ago ( not really bulletboys..singer and some other noname dudes).. the singer played lead guitar all night and did a good job ( he auditioned for Kiss and Ozzy back in the day)...
He replaced Warren DeMartini in Ratt for 10 minutes too...I used to have an old LP interview with them from 1983 or something.

 This what I read as well.

This is why Ozzy and Sharon paid Trijillio (Metallica) and the Mike Bordin (Faith NO MOre) to re-reord bass and drums on one of the Ozzy Rhodes re-release albums so they didn't have to pay royalties to Daisley and whomever the drummer was (Not T Aldrige) that recorded them. They left Rhodes guitar tracks alone.

Something to this affect.

Horrible band! That band and a few others pushed 80's rock music to the point that I welcomed change...when grunge and Pearl Jam, STP, Soundgarden arrived.

funniest band ever
smooth up in ya....
female audience was supposed to dig that and buy their records?
