Even though I own one, I couldn't agree more.

Axl..that's some funny shit!

Pointy guitars, V's, explorers, etc are stupid.
Tuning down is retarded.
Deftones are fucking horrible.
Heavy music sucks nowadays its all bearded tattoo fizzy guttural vocal shit
Don't put guitars on grass and take pictures of them.
Joe Bonnamassa is over rated.
The price of musical equipment is fucking ridiculously high now

* Eddie Van Halen WAS the greatest guitar player on the planet

* Neil Peart is the greatest drummer on the planet

* 2112 is my favorite RUSH album. And I have the album

* I have good gear and don't record clips, but that doesn't make me worthless. I'm a half-assed rhythm guitar player in a generic cover band. I'm doing you a favor...

* My DAW is based on Windows. And it works well (even though I don't record clips of me)

* Foo Fighters write good tunes and deserve the success they have

* Tesla rocks and Frank Hannon is a bad ass

* P!nk is a bad ass

* Justin Derrico is a bad ass

* Justin Adam's 1952 Gold Top is glorious

* I like Breaking Benjamin

This ^^

That's a pet peeve or Ive seen people lay them on a bed of rocks or something. Like yeah, I wanted that guitar until I saw what you just did to it.

this may be the best thread in the history of RT. i love this.
  I've been laughing all morning.

This thread is like an enema for the soul. Here's my cleansing contribution:

C. Deville, though horrid, is a better lead player than Kirk Hammett.

Foo Fighters sucked, still suck and will always suck.

Peavey Wolfgang is the best guitar ever made.

Lars Ullrich was right.

A good amp and a good 412 are not too heavy.

True bypass isn't the cure.

Orianthi is annoying.

Only one or two guitars on a gig is not enough.

Multi effect sucks.

Keeper and axefx sound like any other digital crap.

Eddie WAS a rock god and game changer (like Yngwie, Jimi, etc). But one of my peeves is when ANY rock or country player is called "the greatest". I always wonder how exactly that is defined. The icons of the classical, flamenco, and jazz genres are MILES ahead of rock/country/blues players in terms of mastery, command, knowledge of the instrument and music in general. I've studied, taught, gigged, and dabbled with nearly every genre of guitar playing and there just is no comparison regarding the level of commitment and focus required to master and perform classical, flamenco, and jazz as opposed to more popular music forms. Anyways... there's my rant. It's all good and honestly, I really like and respect most of the players who've been mentioned in this thread. But to me, rock players compared to players of those more difficult genres might as well be like comparing cell phones to barbecues. I don't really even think of them as being the same.

Load would be considered a pretty good alternative rock album if it wasn't by Metallica

Dream Theater is a better band without Mike Portnoy

SRV is extremely overrated

Dimebag Darrell's tone is awful, DOD Metal Pedal most likely

"Chuck" by Sum 41 is an amazing album

CC Deville had the best live tone I've ever heard when I saw Poison open for the Crue in 2011.

Anyone who still used the term "modern" when referring to guitar tone is a retard. That tone has been around since the Dual Rec came out in 91.

I was glad Nirvana killed hair metal, even though I love all things 80's, it was time. Now the same needs to happen to screaming down-tuned metal.

Pantera was the last great metal band ever.

Tom Kiefer was the most talented musician to come out of the 80's era.

Oasis are shit, just came along at the right time
Indie music in general is awful
Modern rock is awful, even metal is formulaic with no originality
Keeper and axe fx still sound like they're plugged into a computer no matter what emulator is on them
Country rock still has the biggest and best talent pool out of any genre
Gibson and Fender haven't produced anything interesting or decent in 50 years
Prs guitars feel plastic no matter how expensive
Steve lukathers tone isn't that good now but is still one hell of a player

That's actually really therapeutic, I didn't mean to go that far, it just started spewing out!! :D

I'm surprised this hasn't come up yet:

Randy Roads was a mediocre player at best.

wait a second......not a single "haters gonna hate" comment???? :D

Corrosion of Conformity with Pepper is the tits

5150/6505 series amps makes you feel stupid for buying a $3000 amp

A good distortion pedal can sound as good as an amp

In a blind test, you can't tell what amp, guitar, or pedal is which

People have wasted a lot of money buying amps so they can get some E-Cread on forums

Every time Charvel Dan posts pics of his gear I want to punch his fat face

Reza gives me the impression he lives in his parents basement

Rush sucks

AX7 have some good tunes

Songs not tone

No one cares about your "NGD" unless it comes with a review

Splawn is way overrated

LMAO

There are little girls in China with more talent in one finger than the entire city of Nashville.

Ok... slight exaggeration. But still... worldwide, especially in China, Korea, and eastern Europe, there's still a major talent pool of classical musicians that are just WAY beyond anyone in country rock.

I think I agree with everything else.

I've never enjoyed playing through any Peavey or Mesa amp ever. However, i like tones other people get out of them.
I don't like pretty much all 90's/2000's rock/metal music. Big Wreck being the only exception
I loathe most metal these days, but still consider myself a metal head. I'm in an instrumental metal band for a reason.
Not a fan of Les Pauls
Dan Erlewine gives bad or sketchy advice 70% of the time. Usually for the purpose of selling a waste of a product he "invented"
Hendrix, while great for his time, was quite sloppy in a live situation. Ditto for Yngwie
After working on many hundreds of guitars over the years, Edwards, Schecter and LTD make the most consistently good moderately priced guitars. YMMV
I hate the look of all Schecter and LTD guitars.
Gilmour could make a Recto sound classy.

I can't stand Slash's tone...doesn't matter whom he plays with. Horrible!!

Forum people who talk out of their asses and are rarely truthful about tone so that they can be in with the crowd... or think that they are "friends" with the builders, so they never post true feelings about their products.

People who defend builders based on their "friendship" vs the actual quality and tone of their product.

People who buy 1 NOS tube and now consider themselves experts.

Just because I don't play out anymore doesn't mean I don't know tone or know how to play.

I hate stock JCM800 tone, but love others tone when they use them.

My ear is more discerning than most people's. Haha

I'm sure I'll think of more.
