You can get a Splawn with a switch to change between B+ and regular. I had one on my QR. I preferred the regular over the B+ because it was tighter. There’s a mid shift you can get on the QR now too, I’m guessing that’ll lean it more towards a Nitro if you engage it.

If you want a razor a Boogie Mark series will do that easily. My MK V has so many great tones in it but that is one it can do in spades. But it can also do the sledgehammer...and also do great cleans. An 800 EQ'd right with an appropriate boost will hit the mark as well. Tons of 80's thrash that defines razor where it was an 800 on deck.

I see you have one in your sig, but the Evh50, blue channel boosted did it for me. I ended up selling my Vht d120. No that it lacked in any way, but I needed the loop and more switching options, and couldn't just keep an amp around if I wasn't using it. And that blue with a boost is just crazy heavy and tight.

I actaully play the EVH quite a bit. Super duper easy amp to play, but not a dry feeling amp in the slightest

Weird.. I find the blue channel dry as a popcorn fart.

I had a Mark V for like 2 weeks. Liked it. Biggest complaint would be that I wanted a different EQ section for all channels. I was quite fond of channel two. Crunch did a good marshall and Mark 1 mode was sweet OD heaven. the cleans were good and channel 3 was my crunch channel. The JP would be cool, but it gets rid of channel 2 which was my favourite. I've always wanted to like Mesa. I think some of their stuff is WAY cool, but I never loved anything.

FWIW, I've been running 34's in my MK V and that really brought the amp home for me.

I’ve had my VHT pitbull cl100 eq for at least 5 years. When I got it, I loved it and now I rarely play it. I’d like to replace it with something else. With few exceptions, I typically like a like a ton of gain, but a dry feel, and more of a marshall voicing. I recently sold my Laney Ironherat as I wasnt digging it anymore either. The Splawn Quickrod- what’s the B+ option like? I had 2 QR’s back in the day and actually found them a little too dry feeling, but they were cool amps. The Fryette D60 is also a consideration. What other amps are in the same vein as the ones I mentioned?

Try a Mezzabarba MZero Overdrive. It sits in the Wiz/Marshall/SLO camp.
