I have been kicking the FRFR thing around pretty hard for the past couple of weeks. I use a Tonelab LE and have recently sold all of my tube gear. I would like a tube power source but am short on cash so I can't afford anything that I would consider optimal (VHT or Mesa power) and I have had some issues dialing in live tones that I like so FRFR seemed like the next logical step.

I keep changing my mind though because I have not had any type of what I would consider a "standard" cab in about 8 years hence my current search.

I hear ya, the endless quest for the perfect tone - costing me a small fortune, but I think I'm finally getting closer - to the point where I can sell my vintage ADA gear with minimal concern. Funny you mention the Vox Tonelab LE, that's where I was heading before I stumbled upon the Axe-Fx and convinced myself that burying my credit card past its melting point actually made sense!

It may take me awhile to sort out the FRFR set-up that will work for me, but my bass and guitar preamps are solid. I have a Trace Elliot MP11 preamp for bass, which is simple and provides all the tone management I need for bass - easier to use than the Trace Elliot GP12SMX I had before (plus its programmable), both of which are stupid-simple-to-use and dial-in compared to the ADA MB-1. The Axe-Fx Ultra is, next to my favorite guitars and basses, the best piece of gear I've ever purchased - for what it can do, and what I can do with it in a short time of barely scratching the surface - is well worth the asking price IMHO, it has caused me to rethink everything I do, and convinced me to change how I do things, and sell equipment some of which I've owned since the early '90s!

What FRFRs are you thinking about pairing with your LE?

I am looking to go used and on the cheap but have heard negative feedback on the cheaper power speakers and keyboard amps. The cleans sound great but the distortions have a weird high end thing that is tough to dial out. Some of the more expensive options ($900 and up) have a level control for the horn to help clean that up. I hear that the new Atomic amp that was demo'ed with an Axe FX in a video somewhere on here has that also. That will be about $800 too though.

I might just pick up a cheaper keyboard amp at GC and use the 30 day trial period to see if I can EQ out the high end with my MXR 10 band and the EQ on the LE.

There's a good discussion topic on the Axe-Fx forum on choosing FRFRs, and describes the high-end frequency distortion issues with some of them, and some that can avoid the issue. Nothing "good" is cheap. Not sure if this is "allowed", but here is the link to the topic. some of it is Axe-Fx specific, but most of the advice applies to anyone thinking about using FRFRs for guitar: http://www.fractalaudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2822

If I can find a box.........I will send you a mint Lopo Signature cab for $175. Its built like a brick ****house and I preferred it over a VHT Fatbottom, Avatar, and Splawn 2x12's. Just like this one:

http://www.lopoline.com/catalog/item/4313157/4429251.htm

See if you can find a box and let me know. That is $175 shipped correct? How would you like payment? Thanks!

Sorry. I meant to say $175 plus shipping. But for my mistake, I will do $150 plus shipping. Let me see if I can dig up a box around work tomorrow. I'll try to get a shipping estimate as well if you want.

Any luck on the box?
