Another really good sounding demo. The video opens with Green Day style riffs but the rest of it starting at 1:16 onwards shows mostly just standard guitar tones.
Sounds like somebody split the difference between a Plexi and 800, and put more gain on tap, which doesn't sag quite as much as a stock plexi. But the gain is still pretty gnarly and uncontrolled in a cool way. It doesn't sound overly produced out of the box like a lot of amps do. It's a proper raw Marshall.

Fuck man, I actually watched a couple of vids of their gigs and they suck as a cover band. Especially when the other guitar player sings. It totally relies on his fame because it falls way short.

Wow, that thing has a lot more gain than I thought it would. He had it on 6 and I bet that was the limit of where it would stay tight.

I don't think this amp sound bad at all...But there is definitely something raty /splatty happening in the high top-end in all the demos that isn't very appealing. Considering the price, and cosmetics it's a pass for me. I can cop similar tones that I will likely prefer over this one with DSL 100HR.

When Dookie came out in 1994, a SLP cost around $1,750. Since 1994, inflation has caused overall prices to rise 2.31 times (according to AI). That means the inflation adjusted price for a regular SLP should be $4,024. This one isn't a regular SLP, though, it's a limited-edition signature, hand-wired, with factory dookie mod and factory custom color.
I've watched about a dozen video tests of it and three of them said it was either the best or one of the best Marshall's they'd ever played. This amp will sell out and if you don't bash it around it will go up in value. Dude had a gift for writing pop songs. Green Day are The Beatles of punk.

That amp sounded like a bag of pissed off hornets and bees buzzing around. The dookie mod is really a dookie mod alright, turns your amp into a pile of fucking flaming shit. That worthless mod is a shit turd I remember Steve K calling it that, he for a minute and couldn't get rid of it fast enough. John Suhr supposedly designed this turd, and you know he doesn't want his name attached to this thing. That's why when people say gollum mod at custom audio electronics, John's probably glad that someone other than him had his tag inside of the amp and was taking the credit for this and he wasn't getting blamed.

I think it’s an ai generated photo. Look at the tube sockets - one heater tap is shorted to ground and the spacing is wrong for the mounts/too close.

Dookie and Insomniac were legit great albums, and even back then people were debating whether they were really punk. But whatever label you put on them, those two albums rocked.
Nimrod wasn't really punk, the band was moving into Guitar Pop territory by then. But there was still enough of the old band in there that most (though not all) of the songs were still aggressive and punchy. But it definitely marked a change in direction. After that album, they released Warning and I was out. Just a full album of basically Girl Pop.
But Dookie to Nimrod were legit, especially the tones, even if it wasn't all 100% pure strain black tar punk.

There's a melodic tritone on the song No Pride which I thought was interesting. But yeah, once Warning came out, it was end for me. American Idiot had a couple of songs I liked, but it wasn't the same band anymore.

After watching more demos, sounds good in some, sounds fizzy in others. No way I would pay over 5K Canadian for that. Blue tolex is cool though...
