Well overdriven modded marshalls were king for maybe 10-12 years and then the Recto was born so we have had that sound since the early 90s till now.

Everthing is rehashed when it comes to distorted guitar, even the digital stuff .

Just more features added, and a mixture of existing sounds that have already been around.

Regarding the AFD, how hard can it be to dial in a tone you like with 7 knobs on the front...turn them until you like it. If you can't I would sell it off.
