What dealers???
The guy I am dealing with is the regional sales manager for the east coast. Marshall has set a line with their retail dealers that the MAP(Manufacturers Advertised Price) is NOT to go below $1750. The MSRP is $2499.99 from all major stores like GC, Sam Ash etc... Take into consideration the standard discount awarded to larger dealers which will vary from 10 to 20%. Now go to an extreme retail discount of say 30%, that would put the amp at the MAP price of $1750.
Sounds like these people have not received any solid info about it as of yet. If you call around like I did yesterday, not a single dealer even has these amps on order in the US. So they are probably referring to the VM amp and not the JVM.
Steve

Two local shops told me this. No they don't have them in stock or anything...they just told me they will be around $1500. They are available in England, and are the equivalent of $1,526 USD there. The shops I talked to could be completely wrong. I'm just telling you what I've heard.

Another fact to consider...the list price of the TSL is the exact same as the JVM. The TSL sells in GC for $1500.

You sure Joe? The lowest I heard so far was $1625 and I do not know where that one came from or how solid that price info is. I just can't see this amp being $1500, just too many options.

Also mix that with how much it is over in the UK and then do the conversion, plus add taxes and other shit - it'll probably retail for $1799 or $1999.

2 more to fill the order, but I can take as many as people want.
If it goes over 12, maybe I can renegotiate...LOL

Fuck it and shit..... Im in. Im breaking my rule. I told myself the only reason Id buy before I tried it was if it was something like a Cameron or an amp I cant find in a store locally to play but this is a good deal. Come on Steve just order 2 for yourself. You know you can move eventually. This thing better rock.

I am not taking any money until all 10 spots are filled and guaranteed.
I don't want a single person to be delayed due to someone dropping out.
Once I have confirmation of everyones payment, the order will be placed.

What I will do is request via email:
Full Name
Address
Phone Number
Email Address
CC Number or MO sent Via Priority Mail
Whether you will be picking it up of having it shipped.

Realistically, the order can be placed as soon as the MO's that are being sent arrive. All 10 amps will be on one purchase order, so all the money has to be here.
Steve

I'd strongly recommend against emailing CC number info - or even PM'ing it.

Just gimmie a call when those last two slots get filled :)

I can't wait to hear what the consensus is after you guys get to jam on these in person.

Seems like Marshall made a BIG step in teh right direction with their new offerings.

Marshall has, in general, been off my radar lately, btu maybe one of these beasts will be in my future :)

Buy one - if you don't like it - ebay it and take maybe a $100 hit - with them not even being in stores for a while, and beiong sold at less than MAP - you should be able to make your money back, maybe even a profit, ala PS3.

A lot of guys at the local Guitar Centers don't know what the fuck is going on. Lots of them don't even know what NAMM is.

I'd trust SteveVHT with a CC number - besides there's fraud protection. :)

I'll be paying with a CC :)

+ 1,000,000 If I were getting in on this, I'd have NO reservations about it whatsoever. I just got an amp from Steve in the mail today, and he's 100% trustworthy. I'd MUCH rather trust him with my credit card than most of the 19 year old flunkies taking my order at various places that take CC's.

I do have to say that if it was anyone other than a handful of members of this forum, I'd not be interested.

I have 100% confidence.

Posts: 629 Played the new Marshall JVM today!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

So i had a new acoustic coming today so I took some time flexi and went along about 1 oclock before going home this afternoon to try out the new Marshall Jvm amongst other things... (Only ended up trying the JVM!)

TRIED THE 2x12 COMBO.

So i grabbed a Gibson LP Standard off the wall and plugged in then later i tried a cheap mexi maple neck strat (sounded great)...

I'll go by channel...

Ok this amp isnt as you might think as in channel 1 leads on to channel 2 to 3 to 4 in turns of gain... not exactly anyway...
Each mode isnt just more gain but a different structured sound... (i heard the mid pot is set at different hz?)

Channel 1 has three modes... Green is really clean and doesnt have volume control just gain...

Mode 1 Sounded quite good but i think you might have to really crank the gain
Mode 2 Slightly more gain Possible break up but still can have clean. Sounded great on both....
Mode 3 had fair amount of gain. Definately able to get Crunch... a very low gain crunch but there....
--------------
Channel 2 (Probably my fav with the Strat )

Mode 1 (Green) was great Nice soft crunch and sounded lovely. Could get spanky... and Great low gain tones... Great with strat also...

Mode 2 (orange) My favourite... With the strat some funk it just sounded amazing...... It could also get that plexi crunch

Mode 3 channel 2 had enough gain for any rock rythm sound with a humbucker....
----------------------
Channel 3

Didnt spend too much time here But It can do all the crunch rythym jcm800 sounds you need. And plexi on steroids..

--------------------

Channel 4

So easy to play!!!! Amazing fun. Can't really comment about metal as i'm not into that really. I got great high gain pinched harmonics and lead sounds. And it can get heavy... You guys may need an eq for the sounds i sometimes hear here but i'm not sure..

In all modes the leads can be smooth but also cut not buzz saw ala JCM2000 tsl
---------------
Each mode was great and cleaned up great with the strat (not so much with gibson but i hate the way GIB Lp's clean up). This amp has Got great feel to it. Really squish and fun to play, especially with the strat.

Cant really

I think all my fav tones are on (Orange) of the 3 modes on this amp...

I am def going to get one of these, just cant decide what to buy head or combo! I always buy gear used without fail but i would happily buy this new just to have it soon.

I dont know if i preffered it but it was right up there with the DIEZEL EINSTEIN i own for tone... and The Framus Dragon i own...

IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AND ALL THIS WAS AT REASONABLE VOLUMES

(The master didnt go past 2/11) and channel volumes were used to get a bit of volume....

Still even at very low volume sounded great!

MARSHALL IS BACK

Tell him to come over here and take up a slot!

:)

I appreciate that.
I have no reason to take anyones CC number for any reason other than to pay for these amps.
Every person will be getting a receipt and a CC confirmation number. It will also be a written contract for the purchase via email, just like a sales receipt.
The receipt will state all of my personal information along with my responsibility in using the CC number.
Plus the fact that any major CC company can reverse charges and press federal charges against me for it...
I don't think that is going to happen, and my wife and kid don't need to visit me in jail...LOL

I don't understand this. Your CC is protected against fraud, but MO's are not. When that whole 357 choppers thing started a lot of people decided they were going to send checks and/or money orders because the CC routine wasn't secure. Even then I was more willing to use a CC over other payment methods, and as it turned out, I made the right decision because I didn't lose a dime on that deal. Those who sent checks and MO's did.
