I have a Morris UK78’ and I stumbled on this tonight. I had previously been using a Griffin 808 Screamer or Super Drive. This combo does exactly what I want for 80’s stuff.

Mostly simple classic stuff on my side;
main mid-size rig I usually drive around with a compact board:

What's been in the big rig rack (the higher gain OD on the 2nd shelf can rotate, had the DOD there at the time of the photo):

And sometimes when traveling light it can be just one pedal, like for instance:

Grey spec modded YJM overdrive or JHS Bonsai because I get a few diff options on the switch. There are a few great settings on that one and i tend to go to the nobel setting, the JHS mod, or the OD-1.

Also fond of my Boss GE-10

so many things work, any TS derivative. I’m mainly using SD-1’s, also the Metal Zone Waza in waza mode is way cool too.

So many pedals work sooooo good with the 800. I have a bunch of double boosting favs for metal but the latest is a metal zone/Duncan805 or metal zone/wizard leopard. I have an empress heavy arriving, see how that is. Angry Charlie/Duncan805 is insanely good too, like stupid good.

A CAE liner driver into either an SD-1 or OD808, though some 2203/2204 amps seem hot enough on their own not to need the line driver.

I have often done light boost from OD into 800 and then clean boost ( Koko in my case) before OD as a lead boost. An 800 becomes an amp with 3 voicings... "channel switching"

I really like the Waza Boss SD-1, or one of my favorites is the Barber direct drive SS with the internal pots, a Ratt is pretty awesome as well. The Maxon OD-9 is cool as well if you are going for a little smoother drive.

I think the answer has already been stated here and in other threads, but with an 800, it really is a case of "ANY" and "ALL" pedals. It takes anything and everything. That's why most of us own 10+ OD's. At any time, you will go back to XYZ pedal and profess your love for it on this forum.. then within 6 months, you will buy something else. Pedal companies should thank Marshall for building a circuit that flatters just about any pedal.

I've always liked my old trusty Maxon OD808 for any amp I'm boosting. Second choice would be the SD-1.

This is one great way fo do it.
