But, but, but, your profile pic? LolBro I don't have a Wizard. All my amps were under 1K. Guitars on the other hand![]()
“So, what do you do?”used to love when the soda jerk poured me a tall black licorice sarsaparilla from his fancy fountain for a nickle.
So black knobs and diamond plate are a $500 mark up?Pretty sure it’s black chassis/chrome faceplate that will be the standard version. Was told $3199

Sorry sir, our malt jerk is off on Wednesdays."Ima get a malt for two bits..."
6L6s in a rectifier are biased extremely cold, so it’s like a 5150 or 6505, i.e. power tubes last for many years.Looks awesome, but that's going to be an expensive retube every time.
Yeah but Mesas are made in house while Friedmans are made in the contracted out BAD facility. So there’s more people along the way via outsourced BAD that need to get paid vs the one shop that is Mesa. Doesn’t Dave F have at least a small team at Friedman headquarters R&Ding prototypes and doing warranty work, minor mods and whatnot?Around 2020 all the amps we talk about were 2500-3K. Friedman, SLO....new MW Rectos were 2600? Now, after Covidflation everything is what, 30% or more higher? These and the C+s are right in line with that. All of Friedman 100w are 3600 or more....no one seems to be bitching about those.
Prices are right in line with every other new flagship high gainer.
I don’t think the manufacturing cost details matter all that much. Gibson knows they can sell 150 at $3700, so they’re going to price it there. It’s sort of the same with Friedman. The amps are constantly in high demand, so clearly Dave isn’t pricing them too high.Yeah but Mesas are made in house while Friedmans are made in the contracted out BAD facility. gimme a shine on these dusty loafers—extra whale oil.Sorry sir, our malt jerk is off on Wednesdays.
I would normally agree with this. However, with Gibson/Mesa they've actually nailed that vintage sound, and in some cases they sound even better that the OG Rev Cs, Fs and OG C+s.I just bought a rev G triple for a little under $2000 shipped. I’m sure the new ones will sound better, but idk if it will sound that much better. I know I like my JMP 2203 better than the 2203x’s I’ve played that go for over $1000 more new than JMP 2203s do.
I’ve found over the years that, every time someone tells me about something that’s “X but better”, I end up liking X better than that thing. So if it really nails the old rev F tone (the first rev where there was a triple), that’s awesome, because there aren’t that many of those in mint condition out in the wild. If it does something different, even if it’s “better”, that’s not as awesomeI would normally agree with this. Hard to believe but true.
I see your point, but I'd add that the staff at Mesa probably earn quite a bit more than an outsourced PCB assembly line in China. Remember-made in USA can mean PCBs populated in another country, then final assembled here. Not that Dave's stuff is coming from China. I have no idea but that seems to be a big cost saver for builders these days.Yeah but Mesas are made in house while Friedmans are made in the contracted out BAD facility. All I know is this: I had 2 F Triples, and then a C Dual. The C Dual was my fav Mesa over all the Rectos and the 4 OG C+ I had. People who I trust (they've had multiple Rev Cs, Fs) all say the 90s Dual RI is the best of them all. This Triple, I'm hoping has that same character.I’ve found over the years that, every time someone tells me about something that’s “X but better”, I end up liking X better than that thing. I’m just happy that people are buying 150 W all tube amps in 2026. Spend too much time on gear forums, and you’ll be convinced that it’s all about modelers and 20 W ampsAll I know is this: I had 2 F Triples, and then a C Dual. I'm in, at some point this year.
