Mesa Boogie RA-100

Here is a new review of the amp from Rob. There are bits and pieces of lead licks from a few different guitars throughout the vid but he only uses a strat when doing the bulk of the review. Initially they go through the amp with everything set at noon and then they use pretty heavy attenuation on all channels. This may give some the impression that the attenuation is required to get higher gain levels but it definitely is not the case. I found that the Lo mode benefitted the most from the power soaks compression but I favored the Hi mode without it. With the power soak completely disabled (via the switch on the front) you can still get epic amounts of gain even at bedroom volumes. Enjoy the vid.

I like my RA 100 but the stiletto rules!!!
I put tubes with a higher rating on them 32 and it pulled the bias up as it was so frikin cold with normal mesa tubes when I would kick the diodes on it would drop the bias to around 12 etc. Now I have no problems with treble etc")

I had 2 Stilettos, a stage I Trident and a Stage 2 Duece. Didn't really like either much.

The mode defeat switch is just for the reverb. It gives users the option of having no reverb, reverb just for the cleans, reverb for the cleans and blue channel (lo mode), or reverb for the entire amp. Mesa also put a hidden reverb jack inside the amp, for those who want to footswitch their reverb on/off.
is that for the head to as I havent took apart to see yet,,,That would be great!!!

still trying to find a footswitch that will activate the damn reverb on this amp any help??

no help with reverb. But I just spent some time with my neglected RA (been playing with my new small box) great FUCKING amp. Just does about everything I need. Great value for the tones it provides...

I may pick one up. Local CL has a like new for $1000. Probably could get it for $900. They dont seem to hold value well on the used market.
