Messing around with some dynamics plugins... how does this sound? Close?

I don't have the original to compare to. But that sounds good to me. A little distant, but again that might be true to the original and I just don't know it!

Ya, I think Warren's tone is a little too dark on that clip...needs to be a little brighter to sound like the original. :D
 
Man, I feel gay for listening to that. I liked the song though. :oops: Comparing the 2 clips, you're crazy close to his tone! It just needs to be a tad darker and you're there man. Again, fucking amazing Vlad! :cool:

I'm guessing my clip has a bit more sizzle than his. That's easily tweaked with some parametric EQ... :D

Fuck that clip is so processed already.. .like it matters!

i wouldn't make it darker...your top end sounds better than that compressed youtube clip!
i'd just try to add/capture more of the cabinet's resonance/speaker chunk.
and it also sounds like the original had more of a smeared cavernous sound effects wise ala echoplex. your effects sound too clean and polite!

but it sounds great regardless!

I think I know how to fix the thump... Turn the Deep back on on the Hotplate.

Yeah the repeats on the delay are to precise... I'd need to play with that some more. I have a hard time dialing in delay plugins for some reason. They never sound like a guitar delay for me.

Only things i would say is that, i agree with Mentoneman about the fx being a little clean and also it needs just a bit more... i dont know the word.

More aggressive i guess, like on the original he has that tone that almost growls at ya! But id imagine that is probably his speakers working so hard!

Apart from that though, id say you are atleast 90% of the way there!

As I said, I really dug the clip, however, I have to say that it's way left on my system also.

Is it my ears, or are you not in drop D chuggin' on the low D in between the chords? It sounds like you're playing the D up an octave of a drop D, where Warren is definately playing the drop D.
Maybe it's my ears?
Tone is great either way!

I think that may be because I'm not playing it the way Warren is.. It's suppsed to be played as a D power chord off the A string. I played it using the open D string. Mainly because my hands are small and I didn't feel right playing it the way it's 'supposed' to be played... :D
