Clip was a clean signal reamped

I'm wondering why this matters?

Steve

Might be a tad of difference plugging your guitar into the amp instead of what was done here.

Quote-
if i recall i played all these licks in nuendo using amplitube. i then removed the amp and then sent you the direct guitar track, which sounded very strange with no amp on it! i wondered how it would sound knowing that an amp lends itself to the way you play. you move and groove with it so to speak and actually adjust to get sounds out of it.

OK, all this talk about it's the driver, not the car is a horrible analogy. I road race cars for a hobby. My buddy in the blue and orange car (in my rear view mirror) is a 5 time class champion and a 10 year veteran instructor for the Porsche Club of America. Over the past 10 years he has beaten me probably 60 times and I have beaten him three times. This was when our cars were equal. I decided to upgrade my cams and bump up my compression. This video was our 2nd practice session of the day. In the first I realized that my car was now way faster than his. So in the 2nd session I decided to record a video of how easily I could pull away from him. Corner after corner I let him catch up and then immediately pulled away from him. It pissed him off so much he spent $3500 on his car the week after this event

As is typical in race car footage, the cars never seem like they are really going that fast. I shift into 3rd at 68mph, 4th at 99 and 5th at 122mph. We're never below 50 mph on this track even though it looks like I'm doing about 25mph in the corners.

What's this prove? It's the car.

That was awesome! It sure looked like you were going fast to me in the corners... What kind of car are you racing there?

Man... I wanna learn how to drive like that!

Now what were we talking about?

By watching all of the corrections you are doing in the turns I have to say that most of us here would have been in the dirt many times hense it is the fingers gripping the gear :D

Nice driving man, looks like a killer time!

How so? Put me in tha car and watch your buddy win every time. I'd say my driving skills are on par with most on-line guitarist's skills.

I don't know Ed, I think my car might really respond to someone who can speak to it in it's native tongue. :)

It'd curse me for banging it up at best. And I'd understand it. :(

Another interesting note: I have a few live bootlegs of VH back in the day, like the Tokyo '78 bootleg, where his tone sounds like his recorded tone, but better! tighter low end, less hair on the top end etc...

So now Shea is saying that Eddie used completely different fingers while in Japan in '78?
No Im saying his tone got fucked in the recording process.

And to elaborate, I wouldnt be suprised if Eddie could plug into my stock Superbass and get a tone thats retardedly close to his old sound. Oh wait, Sgt. Thump already did that...

Let me tell you Scott, there's nothing I have ever done that is as fun as this. No gig I ever played, no recording I ever did, no high school sports, no illegal drag racing, (hey I was a kid and we dragged through streets lined with cornfields) not even any sex I've ever experienced is at the level that road racing is. I can imagine sky-diving and mountain climbing are equal or more intense, but those are dangerous

The actor Steve McQueen got really into racing Porsche's in the 70's before his death. He has a famous quote, "racing makes heroin addiction look like a vague longing for something salty." That pretty much sums it up.

I think he had a killer Marshall and was an amazing player. I know you're a Marshall guy and so am I, but over the last 25 years I have owned so many Marshalls including three real plexi's. It is pretty much common knowledge that Marshalls are very inconsistent whether it's from parts wearing out, bad techs, or abuse over the years. I think everyone that is in this thread about Metro clones and all us Mojave guys are here because we want a killer "old" Marshall that hasn't been mutilated and modded and worn out. That's why we buy Mojave's or why guys build Metro's. We want a "plexi" but one made today with as good of components as if we walked out of a music store in 1968 with a brand new amp.

Yeah, I guess you're right. I've gone the last two years with only racing 2-3 times a year due to budget issues. I miss it but I'm in a better mood than if I'd only had sex 2-3 times a year. Point taken.

I'll tell you what Steve. Take that Vette of yours to an open track event at one of the local tracks and get an instructor and you'll see how I could have even dared to compare the two. The good news is that before we had kids, my wife loved racing too. We had to share the car, but it wasn't an either or proposition going away to a race weekend. Now she stays home, which can be good too

Hey, sorry I ruined this thread guys. Back to Marshalls, Metros, Mojaves and Ed and Shea telling us all we're retarded.
