Metropoulos amps are done

As a long time server and bartender I have to say that 4 hours is only the time the restaurant is open for guest seatings. Many shifts I have had groups that stay an hour to two or more after the last settings, there is also the pre-shift setup, sidework, and clean up reset, and closing work. There is also the manic and high stress nature of the work that many people simply cannot cope with.

It is not easy work. At my previous job we were a two story establishment, with the upstairs only open for dinner. Try running up and down a flight of stairs that's maybe two inches wider than your serving tray and with upwards of 25 lbs of food and porcelain carried above your head on the fingertips of one hand maybe forty times a night without spilling or breaking anything. Big glass bowls full of oysters and King Crab, huge bone in Tomahawk Ribeyes on huge serving platters, bowls of stews and soups. Oh, and bring an encyclopedic knowledge of food and wine knowledge along with it which you can convey with panache in-between reps of your stair master workout.
100% agree my day starts 4 hours before the sun. Most our waitstaff think what they do is easy. It ain't for me. I lasted 2 days at a pizza joint as a waiter.
Our lead man [hispanic] cook works days at our place and evenings at our other place. Split shift every day. He has kids too.
When we went to lunch & dinner instead of just dinner 3 years ago we got 70 applications. Scheduled 70 interviews.
Only one guy showed and didn't take the job.
Hispanics are the hardest workers we have. Most the 20 somethings think life owes them something.
I have a great boss and am compensated well. I was the first employee hired almost 4 years ago. I wanted to quit my job at least 3 times
this year but im glad i stuck it out. Nobody wants to hire someone in their 60's except walmart as a "greeter" or McDonalds to wipe trays.
There were tons of jobs 4 years ago. Now not so much. We in for 3 more Fucked up years in a no-load economy.
We do more bidness than Gordon Ramseyds place at the casino here in town.
Difference between meat cutters at supermarkets & high end dining, supermarket shoppers will buy about anything you put in the case.
High end diners wont.

So lets all attack the only one guy in the last 40 years trying to fix exactly that.
I'm sorry, but that is a ludicrous statement that agrandizes one person at the expense of the work put forth by thousands of people in the public and private sectors.

If you mean printing money to give to all their political allies. That's the only thing I saw happening.

@Geo maybe I took that out of context and misunderstood what you were saying, but maybe you could help me understand what you meant. Nobody that has any power to do something in regards to these societal issues exists within a vacuum. The only difference is what size cog are they in a very large and complex machine.

It astounds me to hear people complain about jobs and salaries after watching prior admins outsource all of our jobs to China, and then spend TRILLIONS to bring in migrants lavishing them with meals and hotel rooms just for votes and maybe pad the non existing GDP and their cronies wallets.

Then not make the connection, and blame the guy currently trying to reverse this dystopia. It's insanity.

The problem with that picture is that the guy supposedly trying to fix this problem has ripped off thousand of workers, sought out bottom of the barrel price contractors then ripped them off in the end, and employed thousands of illegal immigrants at his hotels, casinos, and resorts depressing wages.

He also killed what would've been billions of dollars in funding for higher paying jobs in the high demand sector of renewable energy. It's akin to the long term crippling of the economy and the destruction of what would have been a huge strategic advantage over China in the sector by eliminating Carter's clean energy initiative. All both of them did was steal from future generations to line the pockets of their backers in the oil industry.

You have no real idea how or why he conducted his own business. You were not in the conversation.

Who says that renewable energy is worthy? That position at the moment, is a waste of money. All the windmills and solar farms in the world will never be enough energy to meet the needs of a growing economy. In my small home I use 536 kwh per month. I would need a whole solar farm just for my house.

Our "dishwashers" make 18 to 22 an hour. $41,000 a year to wash dishes thats more than my wife makes w/a College degree.
Our waitstaff make $150 to $300 a night in 4 hours.
I started at $1.60 an hour in the 1970's Bro. Who made who ?
Some days i may only make $45 to $75 bucks. The homeless guy standing on the corner on my way home prolly makes $100 a day.
My Boss's rent is $20,000 a month thats before salaries or supplies.
Small business is the backbone of the nation. Nobody is lining up to take the places of the folks hanging it up.
There is no Corporate or Gov't jobs to save people. There is no plan "B". The nation is being destroyed one business at a time.

Sorry to break it to you but those earning numbers aren’t actually great. Throw in either no or terrible health coverage, no ability to save for retirement, child care costs. How many hours are the dishwashers and servers getting in a week? They need a 2nd or even sometimes a 3rd job. It’s not sustainable in the U.S. especially if those figure are related to a higher population city. Shit, jobs that require education and skills/experience that pay less than $20 an hour are all over the Atlanta area. Also jobs that are labor intensive.

You're not "breaking" anything [to me} but you seem to have a closed minded opinion of things you have no idea about coupled with an
incessant need to be right married to an overbearing inflated sense of self importance and a major superiority complex.
My life is great, have no idea what yours is like.
Even Boeing white collar jobs are 401K retirement with little or no health coverage.
Company retirements & health care left the planet 45 years ago. YMMV.
You gotta make your own life happen. No "company" is going to save you.

That place is fucking TRASH. Gerard Crafts place that was there before was alright. I am so tired of sous vide steaks. I want a fucking medium rare steak with a fucking CRUST. Not some bitch ass 6 oz filet mignon.

That's because they cause many other health problems that guarantee more doctor visits.

Well this thread took some interesting detours, but this comment is important to me. So many of those drugs come with so many side effects and damage to your other organs that you will end up taking several of them. It's like sorcery, most of the time. Not talking about taking an aspirin for a headache, just to be clear.

Anyway, I never owned one of his amps, but I enjoyed his interviews. Sad to hear this, but the guy clearly is exhausted and needs to rest. I wonder how much longer some of these other amp guys can keep doing this, as it clearly ages them fast.
