Oh dont get me wrong, Luke has had some killer performances.

Damn he has some gain working back then, seems he could hold notes forever in those vids.

luke's hold the line tone had a rawer angrier marshall or mesa sound back then, and i think he used a dumble for roseanna.

another thing to mention is i believe dave friedman used to work with landau back in his burning water/honkies early pedalboard/vintage blues tone days and probably has great insight to mike's tones too, particularly from that era.

obviously bob bradshaw is a no brainer for putting a landau type rack together but to get it done quickly and get the most assistance in programming the landau studio tones into the rack i'm thinking la sound design is the best call.

here's another great tone mind in action-michael thompson

and another-tim pierce

and what rack discussion can exist without the other golden era studio cat, dann huff

bumping a happy thread!

i've been hanging out with 20 and 30 something guys for the last 2 weeks at work, and after being grunged and told how meaningful some of this stuff is and best ever, i listen to "real" music and feel thankful to have been born into my generation for songs and bands and TONE!

love "i'm buzzed" as well as some of the slower ones that pull you into his world and shoot perfect tone beams through your soul

Landau is one of the best. I like his solo CDs the most.

will report back once i get her home safe and sound but suffice to say zach(man) my brother and partner in tone crimes just rules.

My guitar playing is all about Mr.Landau these days! Amazing player!

his rig for the raging honkies set at the baked potato during NAMM week this past january

and notice the raging honkies disc sitting in front of me on the counter. he was handing out free "boner" discs that night, so he gave my son a boner right before he hit the standby switch and started the set

the lexicon in front of me was patched in to the house PA. it was one of the cheapies like the alex i think.

and his amp was so loud that he would hit the low notes and little black pieces of the ceiling would crumble and fall down on me and my son! hope there is no asbestos in that joint....but what a way to go!
