Wow never knew my EB Volume Pedal can be used a expression, I'll try that tonight with my G-force. Is it pretty easy to setup?

yeah, i'm also using an EB Jr. pedal to control my Digitech Whammy pedal through the GCP. the only thing is you need a a 1/4" Insert Point Cable, like this one http://www.zzounds.com/item--HOSSTP20

you have to run the black stereo end out of the pedal out (either pedal 1 or pedal 2) on the GCP and then run the Ring of the 1/4" cable to the EB Jr.'s input and the Tip of the 1/4" cable to the EB Jr.'s output. there's a tiny bit of programming through the Setup menu on the GCP but it should be explained in the manual.

works flawlessly, btw.

Yup

I'm sure you could mod the EB Jr with a stereo jack so you could use a TRS cable.....hmmm, I might do this...

Make sure that your volume pedal has a 25k pot if youre going to use it as an expression pedal...

D'oh! Forgot that part, Kage. It's gotta be the EB Jr made for active electronics with the 25K pot like Kage said. You can buy replacement pots from EB if you want to mod your current one.

I bought 2 of those Rocktron Hex Expression Volume pedals for use with my rig because theyre dunlop shells and they match up the Dunlop rack wah controller on my pedalboard. They have 2 different ins; one for volume and one for expression. They dont have the same throw as an EB but they seem to do the job just as well.

just curious, why does it have to be the one for active electronics? i have both the active and passive EB Jr. pedals and i'm currently using the passive pedal as my controller with no issues

To be honest Bro, I dont have an answer for you. I was always told that if youre going to use a vol pedal as an expression pedal, its got to be 25k. If youre 250k pot is working, then maybe Im wrong and misunderstood what I heard... Im not a tech guy so I dont have much else to offer on that...

another vote for GCP here. BTW, I am also using a regular EB vol pedal for expression (non jr).

that's cool man. as long as nothing blows up i'm good to go

I've used the 'regular' EB pedal as an expression pedal, no problems. you can get the cable at GC too - it's a 1/4" stereo to two 1/4" mono plug cable.

So pete, whats the deal with 25k and 250k pots? I was always told to use 250k for passive pup guitars and 25k for active guitars and expression pedals... is there a reason or truth to any of this?

I'm confused here as well. I was always told the same, but without any real reason behind it.
