Where the fuck have I been?

This company modes the modular Egnator and Randall stuff. I guess you run these through a power amp?

They even have a Cameron CCV clone that sounds pretty convincing.

Salvations stuff is great so is the US local guy Rob (JadedFaith Mods). The factory pulled the plug on the Randall Line a while back so whatever traction the MTS stuff had kind of got stalled. A lot of the modded modules do sound great and this stuff is basically traded for dirt cheap on the MTS forum. Egnator recently re/released a set of modules that are compatible with the MTS line FWIW.

Welcome to the party my friend!!! Salvation has some AMAZING MODS!!! He bought up alot of the remaining stock of leftover randall gear and makes the module faceplates and then mods them. They sound pretty sick! I have a mamba that is supposed to model a framus cobra, and although depending on the power section you run it through... it sounds damn convincing to me!!!

I am about to jump ship on all the MTS stuff. I still have a Randall RM1250 that is super rare and can hold up to 12 modules, and also has a built in 50 watt power amp! Its a beast. I am also selling my Egnater M4 and all the dual modules. I have a Randall RT/250 power amp as well if you want to go all in and go with an MTS rig. Sorry for the shameful spam post... but I got all my MTS stuff in the classifieds right now. Go take a look, and check out those salvation mods man... they are fantastic!!!

I had a Recto from Gigmods (stratotone here - Pete) that just KILLED. Amazing stuff. I think he's out of it now though. MTS stuff is awesome though, although the head I had weighed a TON.

But yeah...if you haven't heard of the MTS stuff, you need to crawl out from under that rock... ;)

Great stuff, not sure why most people haven't heard of it - bad marketing on Randalls part. The dual channels are sick.

So are you guys saying the entire MTS line has been discontinued?

Randall did not renew their contract with Egnater. Egnater is still producing dual channel modules, but no amps are being produced. In short, yes, the MTS line is currently discontinued.

I have been using the modded MTS modules for years now. Great tones to be had with lots of versatility. My collection is paired down to 4 modules at the moment. JF Brahma, JF Mr. Scary (SLO100), JC XTC (Plexi, Blue, and Red channels), and a Sacred Groove Fisch.

I love being able to bias my own power tubes easily and also mixing tube types. I have 34's and 6CA7's in my RM100 at the moment.

And I thought I was finding about these late. LOL!

IMO the Jaded Faith 59RR is a must have if you're trying out the modules.
You can switch from JMP to JCM800 or JCM900. Rob at Jaded Faith will also custom make whatever you want, just send him a "donor" module. He's making me a
Diezel VH4 and I'm designing the front plate and for under 200$ you can't beat it.

I'm surprised the project died as quickly as it did. I thought for sure they would come out with signature modules, a Jimi Hendrix module, Slash, SRV,
Jerry Cantrell.

I saw this beast for $550 when looking for a RT2/50 and almost bought it
but got the RT power amp instead

I tried getting into it for awhile and just did not get into it, granted I only tried 2 modules and was using the power section from some killer amps and never bought a dedicated power amp...Idk maybe didn't give it a fair try. sounded pretty good but not as good as some of my actual amps.
Great concept and super versatility.

My Sacred Groove MK22 absolutely nails the 70's Marshall tone and goes well in to the 80's Marshall tones. I just picked up the Sacred Groove Bully which was build to copy the VHII tone. It definitely gets you there...now I just have to work on the hands part!

I got in to MTS a few years ago and have never looked back. No more wasting 3 or 4 grand on boutique amps for me.

I think this may be it, not trying to be a dick here, I think you know me well enough to know that. Are they 100% of the real deal? Well, no, in most cases, but most mods are every bit of 90%+. I have some modules that I prefer to the real amp and have since sold the real amp.

Sacred Groove The Bully module is sick. He worked on that for me for a few months before getting it back. it was well worth the wait and now I have the dual channel version. It's shocking how great the tone is in some of these modules.

Totally get where your coming from and I agree.

Does the bully mod also do the stock MK22 tones and then some?

Scott gave me some great mod ideas for my "brownstone" module and I love it. Started life as a brahma and then morphed into a perfect SLash-EVH-ish type of module. I also have a scary, friedman Brahma (awesome) and a Judge (supposed to be closest thing to brown eye mod) Really dig the tones I get out of these. I've come to realize that i am essentially a Marshall guy so I don't go dipping into other mod types but the Vox stuff sounds great to my ears. These are great flexible platforms. The heads do weigh a bloody ton though. Neck to neck with my JCM800, I'd say these are solid tone monsters. Played through the same cab I only get a tad more thickness from the real amp vs. the modular preamp. With tube tweaking I could probably get closer.

I would say no. It's mostly beyond what the MK22 can do. If you want true Plexi tone, the MK22 is it.

Drewiv is the man with this stuff and def. knows what he is talking about as does member Mattfig. The Randall MTS world has lots of options and of course we all seem to love tweaking and modding stuff making the gear a veritable gear junkie paradise. The problem for me is reliability of the Randall amps. The RM 100 IMHO ( do your research ) has some design flaws and serious reliability issues. Seems the RM 4 and RT 250 don't have the same issues. I personally love my Randall gear in my studio but would never use it live. I always bring a backup amp anyway but with these if you gig them it's a given.

The modules are awesome and Jaded Faith (Rob) will make whatever you want. Salvation makes some killer mods too. Sacred Grooves (Scott) is awesome and Trace at Voodoo will get any sound you want from the modules. Friedman has his BE and HBE in a module too. This stuff is a great way to get killer sounds. Hey try it you might like it.

I don't know anything about these modules... but I've got a friend who uses one of those Randall MTS heads exclusively, and to be honest I don't get the hype. Perhaps the ones he has aren't the top of the line or something, but they don't sound that great. Usable, but sound like they're missing something, sort of thin and weird sounding.

Ya, I didn't have the best experience with my RM100. I got a package deal on some stuff, and it was part of it. I had some good modules, and gave it almost 2 years, but in the end had to get rid of it for reliability reasons. I did like some of the tones, but found the amp to be very noisy, and just did not feel like a real amp.

I had it in the shop 2 times in less than 2 years. There is a design flaw with these. There are fuses for each power tube, which seems like a good idea. But, with mine there was an internal fuse that would blow before these, and required the amp to be partially dissasembled to replace. Maybe the preamps are a better route to go with these.

Well another awesome feature about them is the ability to mix and match tubes. Never heard anyone say these amps sounded thin. I run one head with EL34's and one with 6L6's and both sound great. I have also run mixed EL34/6L6-6l6/EL34 with great results. I run my RM4 through an old seymour duncan power amp and that sounds pretty badass too. Sounded best when run through the power section of my Uberschall.
