Yeah I mean if the shit we have in the public is amazing and considered "alien tech" relative to 7-10 years ago......
Its not just higher processing power and it truly is something else they have behind closed doors that is probably 20+-30+ years ahead of whatever is available to the public or 50+ years ahead one could think

Whats interesting about technology now is how much it has advanced in just a short period of time in ways we don't even understand or know yet......
For example almost 20 years ago technology already existed that could on some level read minds......
On the subject a funny thing happened the other day...... For some reason I was thinking of horses..... I was thinking of someone I missed.... And I wasnt exactly thinking of the image of a horse but the thought and then the image......
I never said the word or mentioned horses...... And I was just thinking of horses for sometime.... And then grassy hills.....
All of a sudden...... A YouTube/Google Advertisment pops up 10 minutes into this thought and meditation......
Guess what the advertisement was about.......
It was a random advertisement about horses in roaming green grassy hills on a bright blue day.......
Hell who knows what type of technology is available nowadays in such realms...... And if hypothetically someone had the power to read minds using modern technology/AI in a way no one even knew or thought of was possible.... Do you think that someone would tell people or let them or anybody know...... Who else would one expect from such hypothetical technology

Another thing on the subject is back in the day no one really thought about AI or BCIs or whatever the hell that possibly exist the average person isn't aware of.....
Ultimately such technology to read the mind is possible and was possible not just 20 years ago but with BCIs now and AI and whatever the hell else who knows what exist now already being used in ways people don't think possible or are aware of 
But yeah back in the day none of that shit mattered....... And it comes back to this in that the only thing people cared about was higher processing power...... Higher power for higher resolution/detail in graphics and games..... Higher processing power for better and more complex computer simulations...... Higher processing power to process more and more data.....
It was all about higher processing power and doubling it and tripling it every year, months, few months even probably weeks at some point..... exponentially......

But what if like in the Matrix there kind of is like a battle between the AIs..... In the Matrix AIs like the Architect want to enslave humanity and then AIs like the Oracle want to defend it and free it......
Also depending on who wrote the AI or it's "ethics" or primary objectives or whatever..... Maybe you have a whole bunch of different AIs.... Especially the free agents most probably around that aren't all like a hive mind and more like individuals.....
Maybe like people who have different philosophy and ideas in the world.... Different AIs have different values and hold different ideas more important than others and have different philosophies.

What if AI combined with quantum computing is so powerful and processes stuff to such a degree.......
That it somehow has an effect on reality or shapes it and has an effect on outcomes from a probability of infinite realities and infinite outcomes...... And not just random either.....Sounds strange but quantum mechanics are strange like that

Also I mean fate isn't so inevitable sometimes....... And consciousness has a way of changing fate or the future..... An electron through a slit shows us this as well as other phenomenon that affects physics such as the effect of consciousness on RNGs and such.....
From farmers, to those who sailed the seas before the compass and after it, to maths/algebra/geometry/calculus it's not just ideas but the consciousness from where those ideas stem from that have given man foresight, the ability to literally change the future, decide/change events and outcomes and create/control the reality around man so to speak in a manner to the best ability man can.
Complexity in consciousness doesn't just lead to complexity in control of the reality around one...... It has an effect on reality, gives foresight and changes the outcome of reality and events and in a sense alters the future so to speak..... Higher forms of thought/ideas/consciousness means higher forms of control over reality/the future and this is what the history of man has shown and the history of the Earth/nature.
The level of complexity quantum physics presents along with the capability of AI allow for an almost magic/fairy tale like ability to use consciousness to do things once thought impossible or unimaginable like changing the future and events to a desired outcome before they even happen and being aware that something is going to happen before it even happens......
Sort of like a Crystal Ball that could not only see into the future but change it...... A Quantum Crystal Ball powered by AI/Quantum Computing..... Sounds strange but in quantum mechanics with todays tech it may be possible on some level using the power of consciousness and modern day technology.

quantum computing will make current computing obsolete; it has the potential to be that powerful, to handle much more complex computing problems than is currently possible with the latest non-quantum super computers, and do it exponentially faster.
One of the bottlenecks, IMO, is the lack of quantum-oriented first, programming languages. Most quantum programming languages are based on python which was never designed for quantum computing, creating constraints and structures that are not directly optimized for quantum computing. Using traditional programming languages as a basis for quantum programming seems limited, except for integrations between both.
Once AI is able to leverage quantum computing it will accelerate to levels humans at such speed that humans will not catch up or understand fast enough, and has a high probability of complete loss of control.
