Yes but hasn’t sounded good doing this for a long time. I think it’s his current amp choices. He sounded amazing to me either way Laneys and when he was running fuzz and ods into his Marshall VM combos. Running into little tiny combos like he does these days is not doing it for me.
I use boosts and ODs so subtle. I’m really looking for a tweakable extra gain stage in a pedal to keep the feel intact. Never been crazy about what normal pedals do to the feel. I get why some players like it but I like the bounce that an amp gives.
The Dept 10 is the closest thing I’ve found so far. Only thing I’d change is make it true bypass for transparency.

I’ve heard good things about the Dept 10 from others, enough to think it’s got to be a great sounding offering from Blackstar.
I have a similar method, but little bit different execution. I go into a dirty tube amp, gained up enough where guitar volume on ten is plenty, but good hairy dynamic cleanish tone available with guitar volume rolled down.
I use dirt pedals to impart different EQ, add different distortion character, and the ability to go nuclear if I turn up the guitar volume all the way with a dirt pedal (don’t really find a need to do this often).
The distorted tube amp is always the base and most important. Funny, I’ll have different dist, fun, maybe OD depending, and I always end up dialing them to sound very similar LOL. Could probably run with just one dirt pedal, or really non at all considering what I can get from my amps.
