I finally hit our new gapped step up. As much as I hate dirt I hate gaps exponentially more! So this took me some doing and I had all my gear on. Turned out not to be that hard anyway and I should have done it weeks ago. I’m so bad at dirt.

On my first ride with the trail bike since the accident. My handlebars feel wrong. I might have bent them with my chest last time out. I wonder if this is something that can be fixed or do I need to replace them? I don't even know how to check them to see if they're straight. I might take it to the shop after this.

In the meantime, I'm going to try to get used to them on the ride back down.

Don’t even begin to try to hold onto questionable handlebars. Most om
MTB are aluminum or weaker like carbon. Not the cromolly a bmx bike would have. They’re mostly cheap as hell so it’s a no brainer swapping it. Of all the parts that can break, bars stems and forks are the last you want to take a chance on. For my dirt jumper I carry a spare set of bars in the car. It’s not worth chancing it.
