I am very surprised this has not been mentioned yet. Great interview and a lot of insight in there. I have never seen Dave so down to earth.
Hammett's episode was nice, but not the same depth.

Anyway, great concept with these interviews.

Very cool. Enjoyed that, thanks!

This was awesome. I'm glad you posted this. Huge fan of Mustaine.

I liked the Mustaine and Cantrell Icons interviews. I think that I have watched others but can't remember off the top of my head.

thanks for posting
that was excellent and Dave seems sane and composed..........for a minute..............

I wonder if he still has his BC Rich Bich? I had a three of them at one point. Sold one to a friend, one to Lenny Kravitz' guitar tech and one to Guitar Center. They look cool... but, the nature of the body cut kills the sound. These need to be made from maple to get the best sound, but then they're heavy as hell.

The one that went to Lenny Kravitz' guitar tech... I installed the BL pickups.

Didn't Mustaine sell all his old guitars (well Jacksons) to some schmuck in England?

I'm pretty sure he sold everything but his Jacksons to that Essex Guitar douchebag. He told everyone that the guitars would be available to play to anyone...bought the whole collection...then promptly jacked them up and tried selling them for 5x.

Need to get your pilots license to operate those old B.C.RICH guitars controls.
More switches and knobs than a Marshall modded by a meth head on a two week bender.
Once you know what they do, they're quite useful. Not for the metal guy who keeps the volume knob on 10... but, if you're into nuance, there's nothing better. What drove me nuts, was the placement of the preamp switch. It's the toggle switch that's sitting next to the bridge pickup ring. It was repositioned on the production models. This was a prototype reissue. Where they messed-up, was coating it with a 1/8" shell of poly. Had the neck not been painted in oxblood, I would have stripped the entire finish, and went with a boiled linseed oil finish. The neck was thick as well... '54 LP Custom thickness, easily. I like a larger neck, but this was just retarded.

I was told that my white Bich 10 once belonged to Jimmy Crespo. The neck was bowed; due to the lack of a scarf joint on the early models. I sold it to GC. Had it not been for the neck, I would have kept it.

I thought he came across as the asshole he is, I say that as a Megadeth fan. Not one mention of Junior Ellefson, who formed the band with him and most miraculously stuck around for most of it. He wasn't a bit player like Al Pitrelli or Jeff Young who only played with him for a minute. What a jerkoff, he is still stuck with that Metallica inferiority complex and has do whatever to pump himself. Dave, your music is great, we accept you, you should recognize the people that helped make Megadeth what it WAS.

Weird... When I think metal, I think Megadeth before Metallica.

It’s funny. Came across Metallica first as a junior high kid. Megadeth came like super shortly. Peace sells just KILLED.
